There are currently used 60 GB PS3's available at my local Gamestop for $430. I would like to get one with BC and since none of the newer models are PS2 capable, I would probably need an older model. However, I am a little wary of buying a used system. I like to purchase my systems new. Does anybody have any experiences with purchasing used systems at Gamestop. Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you already have an PS2, go buy the 80 gig. For a used 60 gig it doesn't sound cheap.

I got my 60GB PS3 on the Internet for 400, used of course, i have to say that i was really worried about my purchase, anyway, the console works fine, pretty fine, and the controller is in really good shape, on the other side, the console has a couple of scratches all over it, so on the outside doesnt look perfect, nothing serious, well that its my experience with my used PS3, sorry i can be more helpful with this.

Believe me that is cheap for a used PS3 with BC. PS3's with BC go for upwards of $600 in my city! They don't make 'em like that anymore so go for it. Trade in the PS2 towards the price, and buy the 1 year Gamestop warranty.

I tell you go for the new one first is new second the 80GB is more reliable than the 60GB, third the 60GB have the YLOD the 80GB nope, because the 80GB consume les energy and do not overheat more quickly. Go for the new one i had a 60GB but got the YLOD and I do a lot of research and if you have a ps3 manufactured by Nov to Dec 06 you are more in risk to have the YLOD.

get the 80 i think it has the new chips like the 40gb model which means it'll run cooler.

i have a 40 and i can tell the air flow in it is different from the 60, not sure if its a good or bad thing.  the 40 has intake from the front and the side and outputs heat from theback.  the 60gb model outputs heat from the back and the side and only intakes from the front vents.  dont know what this means but im just saying.

How about this? 80GB ps3 for $400 with $100 gift card at Walmart. Its 4 per store though so that would mean waiting at 2am for it. Your choice.

I have yet to play a ps2 game on my ps3. Plus once the PSP2 comes out it will come with ps2 emulation. Then you just hack it and convert your ps2 games onto it.

i got my 60gig at gamestop(refurbished). at first everything was normal then after four months i started to have problems with the power turning on. i had to position the power cable in a certain way. i started to tell my self "you dumb @$$ you should've bought a new one!" i felt like $*!*. it turns out i need only replace the power cable. to this day(one and a half years and counting) my used 60gig is still working. im on my 2nd 360, hopefully the last one... i doubt it! relax my friend, you're gonna have a PS3! want proof? watch "console destruction" (xplay)...nuff said!!!!
