i have hundreds of wallpapers and a few seasons of my favorite shows that i want to be able to watch on my LCD monitor that my PS3 is hooked up to, so i want to transfer all that data to my PS3's HDD.

on my computer, i have a DVD burner drive. so i was wondering, if i just burn all my media files on a few blank DVDs as data, will my PS3 recognize that DVD as a data disk and allow me to transfer all that media... or will that not work?

Well, I dunno about wallpapers, but I don't see why not. I've done exactly that with mp3's, and it recognised all the discs.

and you were able to just transfer all your MP3's to the HDD?

also... did you burn the disk as data (making it only readable to a PC) or did you burn the disk as a music CD (making it readable to any CD player)?

As long as I went looking for the disc under the appropriate bit (mp3's / images / etc etc) they all showed up there. I burned the discs as standard mp3 dvd's, not audio discs, then just copied some of my favourites over to the hard drive.

Why not just watch them on your PS3 via ethernet. Quicker and means you dont need to copy anything over.

Why don't you just put it on a memory stick it's much more easier and it will be recognized as well.
