They also never gave a confirmed release date for the PS3 version. They gave an assumption.

Epic is a great dev. and as a great dev. they will not ship a mediocre product.

Well Mark Rein said they will try to ship it this year and that the pc version is still on course for a november release.

This leads me to believe ut3(ps3) is not on course for a november release, so if it is behind it would only have to be a week or two behind to hit production and be out for mid december.

This sucks but i'd put i bet on UT3 being delayed till 08 for ps3, Epic will not ship it untill its ready in their opinion.

If this doe's happen sony are going to be pi***** as i very much doubt they will give 08 exclusive to sony and release the 360 version in 09, infact thats just not going to happen.

I would assume it will still be the same time frame between versions, Epic is not a huge development team so i'm assuming they will not finish the 360 version untill the ps3 version has shipped as all resources will be on the ps3 version once the pc version has shipped.

Oh well its not the end of the world, one lees game to buy this year one more great game for early next year.

there is a good chance it will be delayed to december then to 2008, the trend for all ps3 games is 2 delays. i wish sony would just pay the devs a bit of money to make the games its not like they are poor they get billions

Yes, there is a chance it will come out in December.

In addition there is some good news as well. A little extra time in development means that now the PS3 version will have all of the same maps as the PC version which wasn't previously expected to be the case.

Midway the publisher annouced that their fiscal earnings will be without UT3 this year.

EPIC say they can make it. If Epic does make it, It will all depend on who has the last call on when it comes out.

I'm sure Midway made that statement based on Epic's feedback on the develeopment of the game. Given their (Midway) experience with delays, probably thats why they arent too optimistic about the release date.

Even Mark Rein, the developer himself from EPIC can't give you a confirmed release date. So there're no so-call "facts" here. And the chance of its delay to December or later is high.

Midway (publisher) : UT next year!

Epic (developer) : We are TRYING to get it done this year.

PS to lhbchen: Don't blame brian sinclair on the news, he's just reporting on a annoucement made by Midway. Almost every major website has the news.

Midway Encountering Unreal Engine Issues on PS3 and this may cause reason for the delay but let Epic do what they need to do to gove us the best game they can make

Hopefully Epic will ship it in time for Christmas because this is one of the games I'm getting for the holiday season. Also, Epic should release it along the PC version anyways so that the PS3 can gain a lot of sales this holiday season if they really want to boost their fanbase.
