RFoM has a more fleshed out campaign, but UT3 has superior online; so go with UT3. it has a steep learning curve, but it's alot more n00b friendly then RFoM. even if you're horrible at FPS, you'll get kills in UT3, where as in RFoM you'll usually have a score of 2-15 if you're not to good online

its not bad, but it's more of a warm up for online. there are cutscenes, but it mainly consists of DM, TDM, and Warfare mode with bots. i'd give it a 6/10 for campaign, but 10/10 for online. RFoM campaign is long and fun though, so go with that if you plan on playing single player more

More players for UT3 might be nice but the maps throw you into instant carnage anyway. UT3 has free maps you can download, where RFOM you have to pay. There is no comparison unless you are set on having the single-player story, just get UT3.

I actually forgot how fast UT3 is, but the lack of a legitimate single player makes it very hard for me to reccomend UT3 for 60 bucks.

If you want online, get UT3. I don't see many people playing Resistance anymorethe4got10one

I was just on yesterday and there were plenty of people playing (free-for-all, since my clan stopped playing, I don't play team games very much)

the games didn't get bigger than 16 people, but they were definitely noob friendly - I found that there was enough downtime for a new player to familiarize themselves with the maps and weapons without getting bored either

the people playing were of various ranks ... most of the time I was the only supreme commander in the match ... so now is as good a time as ever to play Resistance, there are plenty of noobs playing now

another plus is that you'll be playing against the same people for the most part, so if you have a bluetooth headset ... you can probably make some friends easily and play with them for a while

my PSN ID is "petethedon"- add me if you want

also, Resistance has split-screen unlike UT3, so you can play co-op or free-for-all if you have friends over

anyway, you'll definitely want to pick up Resistance sometime before the sequel comes out, but as for now, the choice is yours

If you want the most carnage then you're making a mistake by not getting UT3... Resistance is a launch title. Do as you like though.

RFOM has probably the best lobby system out of every online game also its very easy to get into the online mode because most of the guns have really powerful secondary fires like the bullseye tag so its nOOb friendly. The campaign is pretty long and has some very good levels. The graphics are much worse than UTIII but it still looks very good.
