Ok so how do i download new maps ????

Do i open the internent on my PS3 and go to the website to download the maps, or do i download them on my computer to my usb and then put them on my PS3 ??

Pretty sure either one works. Never tried it though.

You can do either, but you need some external storage device to download it to (probably because if you could download anything to the HDD, it would open the possibility of downloadable viruses and/or garbage data). Also make sure it's in the right folder (PS3/SAVEDATA/BLUS30086-MODIMPORT for the US version).
