UT3 Singleplayer Question

Everywhere I read and hear, that the singleplayer in UT3 isjust like the multiplayer but with bots.

Can anyone please elaborate on this. Is there an actual campaign like COD4 or do you just get dropped into whatever map you want and play?

can't go wrong, its a great game, very addictive. i get alot of lag with may stupid ISP though so i can't play online that much.

if your getting it for the singleplayer i would highly recommend renting it the bot ai is bad but epics never really been big on AI also its short. also your team AI will not be of any assistance to you what so ever so it is really all on you. clarkportmanken

well i guess you can say its a matter of opinion, though the team AI always doesn't do anything. on insane they AI is difficult but i would still call it bad in my opinion. good AI in my opinion would replicate actually intelligence this is more like scripted responses and its not really problem solving, but these are all thing i think make good AI. though anything under insane was kind of too easy in my opinion.

also playing campaign online is just playing with bots which even happens online when there aren't enough players (you essentially play against bots), i think its much cooler and better to play against other humans as opposed to bots but thats just me.

so sorry if i offended anyone those are just my thoughts on the game.

Ill give you some examples of how the AI is bad.

1. in a sandstorm, the enemies can see and kill you when you cant see 5 feet in front of you

2. when you have an objective (cross the bridge with the tank once you've captured the node), if ur bot teammate is driving he wont cross if hes been waiting for the bridge

3. an enemy with the link gun will run around the corner 500 ft below and find and kill you in an instant, when ur sniping from the edge of the map, only showing 2 inches of your body

4 your bot teammates will never work together but the enemy always comes in packs

5 your bot teammates seem to spawn from random nodes too far away from the action

6 your bot teammates run across the map and kill one enemy when 4 enemies are at the node im attacking

7 Enemies have no values of what to kill first, they always attack you first (most offen randomly across the map) when theres 2 tanks aproaching him

If it wasnt for these horrible mess-ups, the game would be fantastic, but now its just OK.

Hopefully the people playing pc will get a patch and God will spare them

Ok lets just clarify. TEAM AI is pretty mediocre.. they'll play, but let you do most of the work. Don't expect your team to make sense strategically for the most part, but they do offer up some ok help once in awhile. OPPOSITE AI is pretty tough. They've got you figured out and can read you like a book on higher settings, however on the easiest settings, naturally they're going to get shot in the back.. and just keep running. :P

IMO this game is worth the free downloads.. Go and find them, and set up bot matches if you don't feel like hitting up the standard maps online. It's pretty fun, and it'll keep you sharp for when you need to unleash later.
