UT3 worth it?

Hey peeps, just picked up a PS3 yesterday, still not sure if I should be excited over that or not... buyers regret and all. Anyways I picked up Ninja Gaiden Sigma and although its shiny and pretty, its way too easy compared to ninja gaiden black, so I think I'm going to take it back and was wondering if UT3 would be a good pick-up, I love playing COD4, Halo and GoW online, so really I need to know if its a good game and if so does it run pretty smoothly over PSN?

im lovin ut3,new shoulder mod is great,awsome online and the single player isnt as bad as people say,its like playin online against 5 year olds,you can set on hard though but i like winning by miles

umm...UT3 is a multiplayer game, if uve played it you should know....meaning multiple people should be playing it together on the same tv and having a blast...online play can get a little boring espcially with bad mic support (can be fixed but..)..even with mic, its still not as fun as playing with friends and owning each other

Umm ever had a bunch of friends over and all of ya want to play something on the PS3. And you go "Well all I got that has 4 player split screen is .... ummm....crap just Resistance or Warhawk." And it sucks even more when your friends don't like Warhawk and are kinda tired of playing Resistance all the time. So yeah, see my point?

UT3 plays like an old school shooter fast paced, power ups, etc.. And it's very fast. I wasnt' a huge fan when I first got it, but it really grows on you and with all the mod support it's the game that just keeps giving. As far as lag its like any game, find a server with low ping and it will play terrific. If you like online games also consider Warhawk. It's going to be difficult being a newbie, but give it a few days and it becomes one of the best online games ever.

Thats what slower games like COD4, Halo 3, Gears of War etc.. are for.

I agree, splitscreen is a nice feature. Just a fyi we play Rainbow 6: Vegas quite a bit and I've seen it as low as $30. It's worth it for the splitscreen action. Terrorist hunt is pretty fun with friends. My favorite group game though is Rockband.

Rockband actually makes sense local multiplayer, funny Jeff Gertsman actually mentions this in his blog.

What EA needs to freaking do is support the 7 controller capabilities on the PS3. LET us play 7 players on Madden or NCAA!! That would be freaking SWEET!

Im pretty old school myself, so UT3 is by far my favorite online game right now.

I'll be honest, I bought it and kinda wish I didn't. To me the graphics are ...not that great, at least not as great as everyone hyped it to be. And some reason the sound quality is horrible, I've tried everything in the settings but it just sounds horrid compared to my other games. I'll probably get flamed but I'm just stating my opinion. Maybe, until I force them to pass the controller around, and when playing UT3 I only use keyboard & mouse.

From what I've played it's a solid game. I'm loving the mod aspect of it and it keeps the game fresh...38EMAGDNIM

I agree with what he said. It'll be the last shooter I get for a while, because I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
