gah my PS3 "cant find any media servers" ...

   which is annoying ... i mean i assumed we would be told the steps we needed to take OR it would just work -- i mean PS3 is currently connected to my PC's via WiFi ...

Have you tried rebooting like the TC? Maybe that'll do it. If that fails, we might have to wait for some clarification from the official site.

Not a big deal for me since my 360 has been able to do this for months. Upscaler is a plus though.TM1

Wow I like to do the same with my PC & PS3.  Can you share the info how to set this up?

What software do you have to install on the PC to share files and stream video? 

And what settings do you need to do on the PS3?

Probably not hardware related so I wouldn't worry about that.

I'd tinker around some more and if you can't get it to work, surf the net tomorrow morning and you should be able to find someone who has written how to do it in easy to follow instructions.

EDIT: Also, try making sure your computer is DLNA enabled.

Do you happen to have a Sony laptop?  Maybe it is a Sony thing.

How did you get videos to show up? I can only get music and photos. :(

    It could be an XP issue ... i just updated Windows Media Player ...

       Ohhwell ... hopefully i can get my parents to upgrade to Vista ... 

ima have to sya that sony did step it up this time. god of war 2 looks 100% better. for some reason though it was showing it to me with the black sides so hte screen looked small but i turned on hte progresive scan and the game look clean. i cna only imagine how ff 12 looks.

as for the streaming. music and pictures are fine, but hte videos i have a problem with. some i see sony fixing in a new firmware but i won't read certain media clips (wmv, qt) only movie clip files. which gamespot HAS BUT!! i liek the HD ones cause they look better and there in hd wmv or qt file.

Omg, not only do I love the upscaling, but right when I rebooted my PS3 with the new update, my computer makes a loud sound and IMMEDIATELY connects with the ps3.  I was searching and searching the internet on how to connect my ps3 to my computer, and it just does it automatically.  AMAZING.  The ps3 continues to get better and better.  And i can send saves to my memory cards now!!!  Wow.Imallvol7

You can also try keeping your eye on the Windows Media Player thread in this forum where they are discussing this. You might get some useful information there.

OK I just did the upgrade and PS3 detected my PC as a Media Center.  However when I click on it it said PS3 is not allowed to access media center and perhaps PS3 was not registered.  

How do I allow / register my PS3 to access my PC?

What do you mean how long has it been out. I've had it a year this June. Man people here get real serious when they get offended. I simply stated a comment and i get flamed for it just cause it's what's hated on this board. I just said it simply cause the poster seemed so excited about it like it was new to devices but its nothing new, just new to the ps3. Grow up
