[QUOTE="Malemoogle"][QUOTE="Xx-Addict-xX"]Well that's depressing. I ordered D&D tactics, but i want another good game with good character customization. I have Dungeon Siege ToA, but the frame rate in that game is horrid. My game freezes literally every like 20 minutes if i try to cast spells and throw arrows at a monster. I like the game, but it's not working out. I don't know if the Untold Legends series is any better, i've played the one for ps3 and that sucked. But i was hoping someone would have something good to say about VK. It looks good on paper, but i guess notXx-Addict-xX
I was under same impression. The game fools you with the idea of "Lots of Items, Classes, and Races." See here though, Most classes are obtainable through grinding, most items are forced through either grinding or shop bought (Based on how far you made it into the game.) In reality, the game is bad.
Gameplay is poorly done with bad Key-mapping that could be changed, horrible battle-phase flow over-all. The graphics vary from ok to horrible even by PSP standards. The game feels very generic in both the story and the flow of the game itself. Mazes are annoying and alot of back-and-forth forced running. Many Gameplay and Running around issues were fixed in Battle-Stance, but most Problems have not changed at-all. People complain how you have to grind to much in this game, though I would disagree. The AI can be manipulated with enough skill, though is much harder compared to VK1. While there are more Races, most character visuals will look quite Ugly. I don't mean ugly in "HURR BAD GRAPHICS" way, but literally Ugly as sin. In the end, the game will be like this: You will have Four Characters dressed in similar clothing and arments based on the area of the game you're in. However, The Arments and Clothing will take many mazes to navigate through for them to change. Another thing that irked me though was: Sneaking got nerfed. In VK1: Sneaking was slow, but was an effective way to get past enemies unnoticed. In VK2: Sneaking is so slow that it's quite useless and the enemy is more likely to find you due to that fact, despite the really low detection range.
I see...So did you find an alternative to this game? With the good solid customizable RPG? I mean the idea of VK sounds good with all this stuff, hopefully DD Tactics can help me out. But do you got any suggestions? Can't think of anything at the moment. As much as I love customizable RPGs, the genre is certainly lacking. What games do you like anyway?
Personally: I like Sengoku Rance, but it's an SLG. You might like it, if you don't mind the sex. Ofcourse, the sex and violence were toned down compared to previous Rance titles. Damn good game, and great long fun.
