SEGA's Aaron Webber suggested on Sony's official blog that one of the reasons the series was moved to handheld was due to its low console sales. But if you want another game is all its HD glory, be sure to pick up a copy of the PSP version.

"So far it seems like most of the fans are really just happy to see the series continue – and, if VCII sells well, it means a much greater chance that the series can pick up again back on a larger console, like the PS3," he said.

Weber alsonoted trophies could be added eventually, but fans need to speak up.

"If you do want to see trophies (and I know that's a lot of you here), then please do keep an eye out," he wrote. "I'd like to organize all of your feedback together so I can show some people here at SEGA just how many fans out there want them. Numbers speak loudest!

Thankfully for fans, it seems like SEGA wants to continue supporting this franchise.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If valkyria chronicles got trophies im sure the sales would go up, i know plenty of trophy whores that didnt buy the game just because it didnt have trophies.

this could help boost sales of the remaining copys and mayb give us VC3 on ps3.

Weber alsonoted trophies could be added eventually, but fans need to speak up.

Hmmm, buy the great-looking PSP sequel to one of my favourite games and potentially see another PS3 Valkyria Chronicles game, or don't and miss out completely... Seems obvious to me :P.

Last year I wanted to get VC, but I picked Fallout3 because of that reason. ( I know.. I'm a baka )

After seeing the light by the awesome VC fans in gamespot, I finally decided to get it one month ago, and suddenly I became a huge fan of VC.

Now, I will no longer make the same mistake.. I have realised that trophies just ruined my game experience. I wish they make a bundle PSP go + VC 2, plus I will get a UMD copy just to stare at it when I'm bored.

NO! No trophies! I spent ages fully completely the game collecting every medal there was, weapons, all that, and I don't want to have to have todo it again just to update my trophy score! It's really annoying. Unless it updates automatically, in which case ok.

That's right there's Tactics, Jeane D' Arc and Disgea, two of which are ports. Seriously though, that's 3, another one is not going to hurt, and the only one that's really better than VC is Tactics, arguably.

I wish I had a PSP so I could play it. :( Good for all the PSP owners though, VC's turn based nature would work well on a handheld. I'm still wanting a PS3 VC at some point though!

Maybe if Sega worked a bit harder on VC's marketing campaign, as well as ensuring enough supplies are distributed to retailers (I had to look for 2 weeks for a single copy of the game if I didn't preorder, here in Toronto), then maybe sales would have been higher. It's a good thing Sega intends to keep the franchise ongoing though. It's a great game, but deserves much more attention by the press (outside of gaming forums, that is).

The thing sega needs to do is to re-release the original on the ps3 around december with trophy support and the dlc in a goty edition. Since the ps3 slim is kicking sales into overdrive it would be the perfect time to see what the game could really do.

from what i have seen with Uncharted 1 and Bad Company, the trophies dont carry over. However, i think it is actually possible to do that with the ranking system already available (BF:BC didnt. i dont know what happened with Uncharted...), or SEGA can just release it as a free DLC so it can be an optional thing for users.

I LOVED VC on the ps3 but i do not own a psp and do not plan to buy one as i have little use for one. when im not at home im busy doing what ever it is i left the cave to do thus i dont have time to play a portable. and when im at home i rather play games on my HDtv and not a little hand held. besides i can neverget commf when useing a hand held. my neck always gets stiff lol. Yea i was bumbed out when i heard the new VC was going to be on the PSP but o well.
