Valkyria Chronicles , demo was pretty amazing

So I just played the VC demo and I am throughly impressed, not only is the Cell shading the best I've ever seen but the gameplay is really something special its like Advance Wars with a 3rd person shooter mix its actually damn amazing.

the one thing I keep hearing is that the story is lacking is this true and would you recomend it b/c I just bought R2 and MGS4 and after I beat those I think I might pick this up

I agreed. Best PS3 game (next to MGS4, even though I haven't even finished MGS4). I would even consider it better than Uncharted, Prince of Persia, and Mirror's Edge. The gameplay in Valkyria Chronicles is in a league of its own. Nothing comes close to it, and its not even that complicated.

As far as the story goes, its not the best of the best but it still makes you want to find out whats going to happen next. The characters could have been more interesting but they're still good. There is also quite a bit of replay value, mainly the harder difficulty on skirmishes.

To sum it all up it truly makes you feel as if you are the commander of a militia army.

1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. PLAY GAME new chapter unlocked 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked.

Amazing game! one of the best in 2008. i think it has a good story and a great gameplay... i recommend this especially to those who like strategy/RPGs...

Skirmishes are the battles right, on the demo I went to Tutorial not skimishSonic_on_crack

Yeah. the tutorial is a battle that has to do with the story. Skirmishes are the ones that basically dump a whole bunch of soldiers in your path and talls you to mo em down.

I was able to do the first skirmish on hard in one turn, then I tried the second one on hard and got a thorough beat down, lol.

The ending is so nice, i haven't seen ending like this for very long time, well presented and very satisfiying unlike any other game nowadays which is mostly cliffhanger or confusing. I'm glad to have VC.
