Well, I saw him playing the game earlier, so I guess a review IS coming. Really weird though, especially giving priority to Last Remnant over this amazing game. Valkyria Chronicles alone restored some of my faith in SegaBenderUnit22You too, huh? I thought I was the only one. I feel like I found a long lost brother. LoL. :P
Aaron Thomas. He's my favorite. I got sooooo many laughs from him....you have a favorite reviewer on Gamespot?

I'm interested in seeing what they give this game but it doesn't bother me really. I love VC. It met every expectation I had for it. I only hope that Sega will support it with some DLC.BigBadLanTerN
We all could care less about a review now, we already know the game is amazing. It does feel really weird seeing the Sega logo come up when I play this game cause I can't remember the last Sega game I played, I think it was Sonic genesis games, lol. Some DLC would be awesome. Can't think of what I would want though. Maybe a side quest, optiona bosses, orders, characters, or a multi-player mode. What would be sick would be the ability to custom paint the tanks or the uniforms, I'm tired of the same blue uniforms.

LOL you mean the idiot who gave Ratchet and Clank a 7.5 for "too much variety". He is the worst reviewer on the planet. Gamespot sucks for reviews the last few years. If you want a good review go to IGN, Gametrailers, or Gameinformer. I tend to agree with those reviewers....you have a favorite reviewer on Gamespot?

To everyone asking about the Valkyria Chronicles review, I'd like to point you at the following thread at the VC game board: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/senjounovalkyria/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-46724945&pid=942165&page=2 ; see the post by Leo_Lionheart (third page if you're using 10 posts per page). He actually emailed Kevin Vanord about the review, and got a postive response back with a reasonable explaination on why it's taken so long. In short, he playing it this weekend in hopes of getting the review up tomorrow. Also, he mentions "I guess I am about 30 hours in and I plan on playing the entire weekend. I feel very comfortable saying it is unequivocally great, however, and rest assured, it won't be left out when it comes to the GOTY awards!"jt4mtb
Just read the whole email, and thats wonderful to hear. I just got the game from amazon, and i plan to start playing it tonight, and to hear them say its GOTY material is wonderful. If VC lives up to this claim then thats three wonderful GOTY calibur exclusive games released this year. MGS4, LBP and now VC. Not to mention other great games like R2.

There's that and the fact that Sega has barely advertised the game at all, but rather done more advertising for Sonic Unleashed. This is such a shame because VC really is a gem among this year's line-up of games. I know that I've done nothing much than praise the game to everyone I know I hopes of getting the word out.

So yes, they did develop it.
What makes this game so good people? is the story good? fun gameplay? are the mission you have to do in it fun? I really want to buy it but im just not sure what to expect from it that allbigLLLIt's a combination of things that makes it good. The world/story/characters of VC, while cliche at points, is full of detail and personality. The characters are incredibly likeable, and you actually feel for their struggle as they're just citizens who are just trying to defend their country. I personally didn't realize how engrossed I was into the world and characters until this one major event happened that just left me in shock and feeling just like the characters were at the moment. There aren't that many games that can do that to me.
As for the gameplay, it's primarily a strategy game with a good amount of depth. The battles can be challenging, but still fun. Honestly, I'd suggest trying to demo to get a feel for what the gameplay is like.
you guys plus that email just convinced me to get the game, im trading in call of duty world at war for VC I just cant play world at war anymore after playing the killzone 2 beta , k2 just destroys world at war on every level Cant wait to play me some VCbigLLLAwesome, thats great to hear, I just recently watched some multiplayer beta videos and was amazed by how chatoic and wonderful it looked. And I like the idea behind the class system, I think it can work very well. So wish i was in the beta. And considering that COD:W@W is essentially a rehash of cod4 (i watched my friend play the beta on his 360 and there was essentiually no difference, except for tanks, dogs and different (yet still equivalent weapons) with the addition of a flamethrower) and considering that cod4 is my favourite online game, this is great news! So looking forward to KZ2

This could take a while.
Story: Fictional WWII era taking place in "Europa". Main character is Welkin Gunther AKA "Nature Boy" who lives in Bruhl. His town gets invaded and makes an escape using his dad's WWI tank. Shortly after due to your late dad's high ranks in the previous war you granted a squad (Squad 7) in your nation's militia. Your personal objective is to drive the Imperial forces that invade your country (Gallia) out.
Gameplay: You control every character you place on the battlefield. There are five different classes along with Tanks; Snipers, Lancers (Rocket launchers), scouts, shocktroopers (machinegun users), and Mechanics. You get a set amont of CP every turn (like ten or so) and each person's action takes one CP while tanks take two CP. So you can move the same person more than once each turn but everytime they move they get more tired and probably will run out of ammo. It is somewhat turn-based but when you have a character moving, the enemy with stay in place but if you get in their sights they will shoot at you. Being the tank Commander you can give out orders to your squad that range from raising your squad's stats to calling in for mortar support.
Graphics: Very clean and has a unique water color and pencil touch to the artwork that looks amazing. People move great, and have great facial expressions. The CG cutscenes don't happen very often but when they do its nothing short of epic Final Fantasy quality. Most of those scenes feature massive gun fire and explosions so its really incredible to watch.
Sound: The music plays really well but doesn't depart from standard war music. The weapon sound effects are also lacking and sound weak. I wish I could turn up the volume on the sound effects cause unloading a machinegun clip in the back of an imp (imperial) should sound more deadly than just a brrrr. Voice acting is great, not amazing but the screams your teamates cry out when they got blown up from stepping on a mine is very realistic. Also, if your unfortunate enough to lose your teamate forever (this happens when the enemy gets to their wounded body or when 3 turns pass without you getting to their wounded body) their final words before death are very touching and scary.
Replayability: I haven't beaten the game but there are a few things you can do that I know of. You can replay the game on a harder difficulty with all your equipement and experience from the last playthough. Earn medals for completeing certain missions or doing certain task in combat like completeing the operation really quick, defeat an enemy squad leader, defeat over 250 enemys, and so on.
There are many things I didn't touch on like the different weapons you get, the upgrades you can make to your tanks, the different abilities that each character has, team attacks, crawling through brush. Whats cool is that the game offers a lot of variety in the missions you have to complete. Its mostly go capture the enemy base but each map and circumstances can get really complex.
I have to give the game a 9.5/10 the only weak point is really the sound.
I can safely say that it's being reviewed now, as i saw Kevin it earlier whilst on PSN;)Dan_Lero
Glad to hear it, thank you for the info Dan.
