If it is in a great condition, it would be very good value. I wouldn't even bother with Gamestop trade value, they will give you a terrible price for it..

Instead, ask around you friends and post online.

I have seen 60GB models in mint condition sell as much as 200$+

Thanks for the heads up! It runs like a champ. I have never bought a new system before though. What is the process of deactivating my current console with my PSN profile and activating the new one?

Its your stuff so you can obviously do what you want, but if its still working great, why dont you just buy a bigger harddrive for your 60gb? you can buy a 500 gb for about $65 at best buy. I sed to have a 60gb and wish i still had it. Its by far the best model to have and even though I didnt play PS2 games on it, its nice to have that option

It was the best model in terms of functionality, but the disc drive is good at dying. If money isn't an issue, I'd keep both. Otherwise, don't trade it in, they'll give you pennies. Sell it on Craigslist/Amazon/eBay.

It is running great, but I want to get money out of it before it does die and I lose all my data. It already has a 500GB HDD in it too lol. I really like the white model and the year of PS Plus is amazing since I get free Vita games too. GS has a deal to get an extra 75 on any trade in towards the white PS3 so I would get 150 for it which is decent for not having to deal with shipping it etc. Anyways, those were my reasons, plus the new ones are so much more quiet and use a lot less power.

The 60gb launch systems are prone to failing with ylod, sound like a chopper with the fan and really overheat. I am not sure if it is in demand especially now that the ps2 is really dated especially when the ps4 is soon coming out. I would rather spend $250 for the new ps3s rather than $100 for a 60gb launch system.

I'd say the full hardware PS2 compatibility makes CECHA PS3s more valuable than the rest, easily. There are still several PS2 titles that haven't had a re-release on PSN Classics or been outright remade yet, which makes those pretty much the one PlayStation to rule them all. YLODs can be prevented with maintenance and just keeping it within reasonable operating temperatures, the low hard drive capacity is easy to upgrade thanks to taking standard 2.5" laptop hard drives, and they still fetch a pretty penny on eBay if they work.

You would save money if you just upgrade your HDD.
