Hello all. Long time reader/viewer of GS, first time poster. I'm posting to ask what the value of my PS3 is. I still love and enjoy it but I'm married now with a family and need to focus on more important things in my life. I could of course keep it as my bluray player but I don't even seem to have time for movies these days. Wondering what the value of my 80GB Metal Gear Solid ps3 bundle is worth. I have owned it since new and have not put a lot of hours into it (I only have like 100 trophies total, and maybe watched 2 blurays a month on it). Obviously the value of the BC PS3's is probably subjective on the buyers needs, but I also know these systems aren't full hardware BC driven and as such could be less desirable than the launch BC PS3 systems. But yeah, I'm wanting to post it on the local classifieds and wanting to see what I should shoot for. It doesn't have any damage or scuffs, has always been taken care of. I don't really know if it's worth any more than a curent one but would love to find out. Also I've been reading a lot about YLOD issues on older PS3's. . . I've never had any issues with this, but is this particular model pretty much destined to fail, or did they fix some hardware issues in the MGS system release? thanks to all who reply, and happy gaming!

You could just look up the prices on ebay/amazon to determine the value for yourself.

Well I see Amazon they are highly overpriced and I'm not looking to start an online auction. I just wanted some gamer opinions on what a fair price for the system would be. Thanks for the input tho.

That particular PS3 version?..... PRICELESS! They may seem overpriced on Amazon or Ebay, but the inclusion of full backwards compatibility and the fact that its the most reliable version across the board with all the bells and whistles makes it a very sought after version. Honestly, if something happened to mine I'd glady give $350 - $400 for it.

You are right it have limited bc. Anyway the first 60GB model is the most valuable follow by this 80GB model. SD cards slots, 4 USBs and full PS2 and PS1 bc, that was very cool. even the exterior is made of better material than the current slim models and they had touch pannel for on, off and eject funtions and power swith on the back. This comes from someone with a Slim model so i am not trolling.

$250-$325 is your price range because of the BC even though it's limited don't make it too high I'd say $300 myself buy u should choose between this price range as it isn't overpriced and your not getting nothing out of it

Thanks for all the input! Will having the original box increase any type of value for me? I'm guessing asking in the $300 range for everything is pretty fair with the msg4 game. Thanks again!
