um... Bethesda doesn't really care... i mean look at Fallout 3 for PS3... that thing is a mess!americahellyeah
If they cared enough to take our money for the game, than they should care enough to stand by their product and ensure that all technical issues are resolved. That's just good business, and helps to ensure good customer relations. As things stand now, like another poster here stated, I will never purchase another one of their products again.
I'd even go one step further and say I'm now tempted, out of spite, to download a pirated copy of the PC version of this game, which is something I haven't done with any game for almost a decade. After all, by not adequately standing by their product, they stole from me, and everyone else who purchased this game for the PS3, so one bad turn deserves another.
thr's another bug for tht..in the forlorn watchman side quest (don't be mad at me if i spell it wrongly)...i killed the wraith who holds the key..but the corpse is nowhere to be seen n i cant search for the key anymore..i tried to wait for a week in the game becoz i thought i could fight it again...somehow..it's not thr n i cant break this mission anymore..does anyone have this sort of experience..?Garudo
I was able to complete that quest without any problems, so that may not be a bug. Although, it wouldn't surprise after the experiencing the Vampire Bug if that key does disappeared and never respawns if you don't pick it up right away.
whats the bug, cant finish the cure mission?jcopp72That's exactly what's wrong. The problem can more accurately be described as a "Bloodgrass Bug" rather than a Vampire bug. When you gather all the necessary ingredients to cure vampirism and speak to Melisande, as you're supposed to do, she will not accept your bloodgrass and the bloodgrass topic is grayed out altogether, hence you're stuck as a vamp.
[QUOTE="americahellyeah"]um... Bethesda doesn't really care... i mean look at Fallout 3 for PS3... that thing is a mess!parviecompletely untrue and false. I have to disagree with you. I played it through for every quest, side quest and achievement on the PS3 and encountered multiple bugs. My favorite is the one where you revisit places where you've already battled enemies and defeated them. Robots glitch into floors and rattle incessantly etc. And it's hilarious when you fast travel to an outside location. I've watched fallen enemies fall from the sky in to place, landing where they were previously killed. Less funny were the 20 or so freezes I got while playing through the game.
This is a known issue, here's a workaround - PS3 official forums
Get a non-GOTY Oblivion PS3 disc, load your save before giving the bloodgrass to the NPC, give the bloodgrass, save. Fixed.
I don't understand how Bethesda could allow such a glaring flaw in one of their games to go unpatched for as long as they have. There's simply no excuse for such negligence. I actually had to go to the ridiculous length of renting the non-GOTY edition and loading my saved game with it just so my character's vampirism could be cured. WTF is wrong with them? This bug was present in all versions of the game, not just PS3 ver. To avoid it you have to give her the ingredients in a specific order, also, you can't hang about too long inside her house cos you are trespassing and she will attack you if you stay in her house for too long.
If the vampire bug was Bethesda's idea of creating exclusive content for the PS3, than they need to try harder.nuyorican84
I bought the original Oblivion game when it came out for the PS3 in early 2007 and I thought I got screwed too when I got turn into a Vampire and I couldn't get cured cause I followed the game guide book to the letter on how to cure it and it didn't happen, until one day ( after being a Vampire for a week or longer in real time not game time) she finally gave me the cure. I sold the game in 07' and now I just bought the GOTY edition yesterday cause I miss the game so much and I haven't played the Isles expansion pack either and now i'm hearing all these new bugs and glitches in the regular part of the game that weren't in the original one I had two years ago. Thanks for posting this one, now I know and I have to be EXTRA careful not to get infected.superlobo
back then when i played it..i got the Vampire curse...and yeah i was pissed off !, i followed the Gamespot guide to cure myself, and i did, and i was cured..then i sold the game because i got tired of it :P

Well, to each his own then. Because I haven't encountered any problems yet, and I've beaten it once and have done every side quest.
I got the vampire disease. But i was able to get some lady to make me a cure. It took a HELLA long time and a lot of searching to get the cure though.

I know you are complaining about this but in actuallity, the Xbox version of Oblivion was actually worse and didn't look at good. The PS3 version came with Knights of the Nine as well.

I actually played the 360 version quite extensively a couple of years ago when I owned that system, and yes, I agree that version was full of bugs as well, and granted, it wasn't as good graphically as the PS3 version. In fact, Oblivion used to freeze up my 360 every couple of hours or so. I think it was Oblivion more than anything else that lead to my 360 dying as quickly as it did. I barely got 4 months of good use out of my 360 before I got the dreaded RRoD & had to start MS' dreadful little game of musical refurbs. It was that crappy RMA policy of replacing new units with equally faulty refurbs which eventually lead to me dumping the 360 altogether, but that's another story.
The PS3 version may not lock up my system like the 360 version did, but the program itself is still bugged to the point where it detracts from the fun. My main point is that Bethesda has had 2-3 effin' years to hammer out the bugs in this game & they still haven't done it. It seems to me that the peeps at Bethesda don't even pretend to give two turds about their customers. Am I wrong in that assumption?

really..? thn i'm requesting help for anyone who had this sort of experience...becoz now i cant do anything about it...it's torturing..You can get the key right when the wraith shrivels, it falls through the boards sometimes, if you see it but can't open it-------- try the grab button or telekinesis. I had a back up and did it three times.
