I decided against a Cyber Monday deal for NFS: HP at Best Buy. Here is another deal: $49.95 for Vanquish. I don't care about online play for my games btw. Does anyone know the used price at GameStop? You tell me what the game is worth...

It's better if you wait for another price drop. Vanquish doesn't have enough content to satisfy me..

I hear Vanquish is only 6 hours long, so I would wait on a further price drop, like $20 or something.
Same here. It's supposed to be a really fun game, but as short as it is, $20 sounds about right.
Well I'll hold off. It's pre-owned at GameStop for $49.99 so the $49.95 new price as Amazon is certainly a good deal. But by Christmas it will probably be lower. And so the scales tip the other way.... Hmmm. I'm definiitely for supporting great games. But I got Valkyria Chronicles for $19.99 and still felt like I supported them. Maybe someone can just buy it for me and ship it my way!I think Vanquish is worth the full price, and it's good to support good games rather than always going for the high profile games for a change.

The fun factor and replayablility of Vanquish totally makes it worth the buy, imo.TheMoreYouOwnWHAT replayability? When you level select you lose ALL of your upgrades , how that stimulates anyone to play a level again? I mean, you can do for the hell of it but there's no sense of reward at ALL.
Fun factor? Hell yeah , it's one great game , but flaws like the above make it hard to enjoy after you beat.

VanQuish is a great game and people should support it so they'll make sequels. Maybe in the next one they would put in multi-player online. Now that would be fun.

Well...I had no difficulty blowing thing to hell and sliding around after losing upgrades. Guess the upgrading doesn't effect my enjoyment of the game as much as it did you. I've played through it like 6 times now. Doing challenges and gonna go for leaderboard spots. If I had the extra cashish, I would do that for ya... Simply because I think we SHOULD do random acts of kindness around these forums to show each other we honestly do care for one another in the community...
... I've asked this before, myself.
:D
Tom McShea and some of the rest of the geeks who've touted this game as the Second Coming of Fun sort of disuade me a bit on "Vanquish"... I'm starting to dislike the title because of McShea's love - The guy makes my skin crawl lately with his platformer worship and his BS attitude. Justin Calvert uber-alles (his love for the game pushes back the darkness that is Tom McShea).
Seriously, next time McShea is on the Hotspot podcast, someone just lean over and belt him one in the lickin' hole, y'know, for the Common Good...
... but I also wanted to comment on the sentiment of supporting a studio or a dev who's done a good job (which, by all reviews, the makers of "Vanquish" have done) - We should always buy games from devs or genres we enjoy while the numbers make a difference. I'm the king of waiting out a price drop around here, to the point of being called "Cheap"... I prefer "Frugal", of course, but anyway... We should always show our love. It's the only way these guys and gals have a chance at doing something we like again, and they need the dollar vote ASAP in order to secure that position.

Not to go OT, but where was that copy of "James Bond Blood Stone" purchased for $19? I want that game and $20 sounds good to me... being the "Cheap" guy...

Cheers to random acts of kindness. Buying games is all supply and demand. Everyone has their own demand curve! Sometimes I seek others to tilt it one way or the other though. Right now I'm still going to hold out on Vanquish, only because I'm playing OF: DR and ModNation Racers at the moment. Those should keep me busy enough.WHAT replayability? When you level select you lose ALL of your upgrades , how that stimulates anyone to play a level again? Yeah , I know , I'm just trying to alert people that might think that his game may have your traditional replay value , it doesn't , but yeah to each his own , lasting appeal is as subjective as any other aspect of the game.[QUOTE="RoOodriGowW"]WHAT replayability? When you level select you lose ALL of your upgrades , how that stimulates anyone to play a level again? Well...I had no difficulty blowing thing to hell and sliding around after losing upgrades. Guess the upgrading doesn't effect my enjoyment of the game as much as it did you. I've played through it like 6 times now. Doing challenges and gonna go for leaderboard spots. And you know, the loss of upgrades has to do with the online leaderboards, to keep everything on a level playing field.Neither did I, it's not the difficulty the problem , it's just that badass feeling after you beat a game , the sense of progress , let's say that I need to feel I'm accomplishing something in a purely single player game like this y'know? But yeah I agree with you , I was actually so pissed that I couldn't finish my thoughts lol , it would obviously make no sense keeping upgrades for a lot of reasons like farming , leaderboards , etc , but they could still give you the option to deactivate trophys , scores and such to play it just for fun.[QUOTE="Gxgear"]

Yeah , I know , I'm just trying to alert people that might think that his game may have your traditional replay value , it doesn't , but yeah to each his own , lasting appeal is as subjective as any other aspect of the game.Replayability is not based on the length of the game alone. Some people go for the high scores, others go for trophies and what not. Vanquish is a game that's really easy to just pick up and play in small chunks. It's really accessible and I would almost liken it to an arcade game like say Time Crisis.
