There is currently no known work being done on a new Viewtiful Joe game. Hideki Kamiya, the man behind Viewtiful Joe (and Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Okami) and Clover Studios, its developer, has since left Capcom, who still owns the rights to Viewtiful Joe. Even if we got a new VJ game, it wouldn't be the same. Case in point: the DS spin-off and GameCube party brawler. Those were - critically and commercially - somewhat unsatisfactory.
i bought VJ on GCN on launch but never got number 2. never got red hot rumble either. didnt want to ruin the game with sequels ;) such an impossible game, cant beleive i finished it.
Ironic that this thread popped up today. I just bought the first one for the Gamecube earlier today. That's all I have to say.

Got it from Gamestop used for like 3 bucks. I had it a long time ago and just never could get into it. Probably because it was hard. Luckily I'm more patient now.

Aw yeah, Gran Bruce. I was stuck on him for a little while. I beat the game, but only on the "kids" setting. lol. I just watched my brother play Adults, he never got past the semi-final stage.
Awesome game, maybe Clover is disbanded, but Capcom still owns it, I hope they make a Viewtiful Joe 3.
