Virtua Fighter 5 - Please read

The low score from Jeff nearly gave me a heart attack. Not because I was angry, but because it gave me some doubt that this game wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be. Rest assured this game is good. The bar of which “that good” is was raised because of this game. This is definitely one of the best games ive ever played. The depth and complexity of the game play brings me to tears. You can call me a VF fanboy, but the truth of the matter is that I play which ever game is great, no matter of the title or series. I agree. I don't read GS reviews but I did check out the IGN review before I picked the game up.... I do understand them wanting an online mode, but I really don't agree with any of their other complaints. It's an awesome game. From the graphics to the gameplay, everything feels great.

Much like yourself, I play quite a few fighting games on multiple consoles and this is the best fighter I have played on a console so far... the move set is without competition in my opinion.

GSsanandreas... its a GS review if its ps3 u can count on it being lower than 9 outta 10 places I just got the game so far so good havent got really deep into it yet but so far i love itwhiteshadow55

Yea, if you've "liked" any of the previous VF titles, you'll "love" this one.... that's pretty much guaranteed.

Same...but I don't wanna rent anymore! I rented Resistance AND Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and they were both great. I don't wanna rent VF5 because I need to buy SOMETHING... :cry:

To tell you the truth... this is the first VF game ive really loved. I like the others, but I havent been in love of a fighter game like this sense Soul Calibur on the dreamcast.

Gamespot was paid to give PS3s games low scores anyways. because it's parent company, C-Net is basically affilated with Micrsoft.

So what do you think? Obviously Gamespot is being forced to give PS3s below average scores not appropriate scores. I expected this VF5 to get at least a 9.1 but nah a 8.1

Ultimate-Playa

Other than the fact that you have to to turn the difficulty up to at least Hard, (if not Advanced), to get a real challenge in the game, this is the best looking & best-playing fighting game that I have ever experienced on a console, (and I play them all). My only other small gripe is no leaderboards & the ability to upload other people's AI fighters to play against would have been cool. ColoradoKindBud

This is the most awesome fighter that I've played on a console period.... and I don't know one that I haven't played yet. The AI in the arcade level could have been harder.... but on the harder settings it DOES present a challenge... so I don't really see any problem there. And the quest mode is where you're going to really go to get your challenge anyway.

The online thing that the game is lacking is an online mode..... and after playing it, I think that's probably a good thing. The gameplay and the speed of the fighters is PERFECT. I really doubt that it could've been duplicated online. If you enjoy fighters, you really do owe it to yourself to get this game..... This is the first time that a console fighter has been better than an arcard experience IMO (assuming of course that you're able to enjoy how gorgeous this game looks in 720p).

I'm not really sure what the reviewer was thinking.... There is not currently a better console fighter on the market. My only complaint is that I would have liked to see more environments in the game.... but the ones that are in there are pretty awesome! In my opinion, the game deserves a 9.0 - 9.4.
