Don't need to get all defensive about it. You're 13, you haven't seen anything yet, so just mentioning it isn't as bad as what you'll be coming across later on. Unless you're the kind who's overly shy and embarrassed over simple things.
Would it be at all possible to get back on topic? In theory it would be possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a single virus designed for the ps3 in it's entire lifetime. Someone asked about this on the Wii boards the other day, but they didn't get quite so off topic ;)
Well, anything that is online capable is susceptible to attaining a virus, however, I'm not sure how well the browser in the PS3 works to safeguard it against viruses. I haven't heard anything about viruses on the PS2 when it went online but then again I've never messed with the online capabilities of the PS2.

nope it cant. the browser is totally different and is not connected with other browsers, so hackers cant get into it, and the design of the cell is soo confusing to those who can make viruses that they cant get it in and keep it in.
I have no problem admitting I look at porn (gotta have some strange after dating the same girl for 3 years). And I want to know the answer to the damn question. What's funny is I have no problems looking on my laptop which cost $1200, but I am afraid of damaging my $600 PS3... so I guess I should just roll with it.

no you cannot get a virus on the ps3 even if you go to a site with a virus. 98% of all viruses are aimed at microsoft/windows so even if you go to a site with a virus you won't get it because the ps3 doesn't run windows.  To jshigashi and the 1200 dollar laptop just install some Linux on that biznatch and quit worrying about your virus woes.
you can't get a virus on the ps3 (right now at least) because virus' (virii?) target specific operating systems; windows gets them because people make them for windows. that is the reason the mac os has very few, if any, virus'. and everyone should look at more porn. mmmmm porn.
