hi

does anyone know how to turn voice chat off on PS3?

it's annoying sometimes when i play games online. i keep hearing people swearing...>

You can't. I believe the best thing you can do is mute the people in the game. Or plug in a mic but don't use it.

If you get the right game yes. Warhawk, Socom, MW2 people love to use their mics. That is just to name a few.

In the XMB go to where you select which device is set for your audio output and input and set it to not use any. But you can't do it while in a game. You have to do it before.

Yeah, I play SOCOM because everyone uses mics. Silence ruined R2, KZ2, Fat Princess, and Uncharted 2.

depends on the game. Some times you can only do mute them in game and have to listen to them in the lobby. For me I just turn my mic on, mute it and leave it on my coffee table so they are not coming through the tv

That's what I do when I need to. Sometimes I might talk to someone in a game only to let them know there is someone close by that I happened to see.

Only certain games use mics, i dont use my mic on my fighters MvC, SF4 unless its a friend because fighting games lead to name calling.. *sigh* I think guile isnt cheap...
