W/ rumors of a PS4 whats to happen of PSN purchases?

For those who buy downloadable games, do you think they'll still be playable through future consoles? This is one thing that concerns me about buying PSN stuff but maybe it's just me. Do you think all purchases may cross over to the new platform?

I can't imagine why they wouldn't be, they're just programs on your hard drive, it's not like there's any physical media involved. But then again, who knows. They seem to have a thing for making people repurchase games and not caring about the complaints, as they demonstrated with the PSP Go.

Downloadable Games should be backwards compatible between Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. Sony has not had a good record when it comes to Backwards compatiblies on its consoles since 2007. Recently the downloadable B/C between PSP and PSvita may signal that the transition of B/C PSN downloadable games is not going to go very smoothly.

However the even PS4 is still a ways off. I don't have much faith in Sony on transferring PSN purchases toover.

They'll keep saved on the PS3's HDD.. don't expect them to transport the games over to the PS4.

I 100% recall saying that in the future Sony are sticking with the idea of accounts/PSN's are they want to keep this persistent throughout. This pretty much means that PSN stuff will carry on over.Adziboy

I'm sure they'd have some way to carry over the PSN games. I'll be really p**** if they don't. I've invested so much money in downloadable games, they better let me carry them over to the PS4.
