The W810i phone is a Sony-Ericsson music phone. You can add a 4gb card to it and play music using the SE format. However, when putting the memory card in the PS3 it does not recognize the music under the music folder. If you go to pictures there is a list of the artists and the name of the songs, but you can't play them.

Has anyone found the same / did you find something different? Has anyone heard any rumors about Sony making the PS3 more compatible with their music format? I would actually have expected this out of the box - seriously it is their own format (in conjunction with Ericsson)......

Thanks!

Yup got the same phone and it does the same thing for me too :( I believe that it's a file arrangement issue tho and not a File format one as the same music tracks work fine on my PSP pro duo card... Also my sons Samsung MP3 (4GB) doesn't work...the PS3 recognises the file structure and that the songs are there but won't play them. Ade.

Hmm thinking it isn't the file arrangement since the information can be seen under the picture folder. If it couldn't read the file system it wouldn't see anything right? I am more leaning towards the format not being compatible with the PS3, but with the PSP. However, I see it as good news that it is compatible with the PSP - that should mean it will be compatible with the PS3 in the future :) Just very surprising to me that this is a problem at all with Sony........

In regards to the samsung - what format does the mp3 player use? Could be that - can you convert them?

I am pretty sure I tried this, but will give it another go. Won't be home until this weekend and will try then.

Ade -- did you try this?
