You guys who have one, do you find it as an issue? or is it better to wait for a redesign with better batterylife?

Never had a problem. Seems to always last me longer than I need.

I don't own a vita, but I own a 3DS - which has WORSE battery life than the vita, and I don't find it to be a serious issue. Battery life is 4 hours, that covers most long train journeys or short flights or drives or whatever. I don't really see many situations where you're going to need 10 hours of HD gaming. If ever I use handheld consoles away from home (or away from a means of recharging) I don't use it excessively anyway. I personally think it has plenty of battery, but that's just me.

Well that's a different story then, haha. Does wherever you work have no power outlets that you can use? I mean lugging around the charger would be a pain but I mean it's a 12 hour shift.

I think if you're looking for a time killer, for music and videos and simple games, an iPhone or something of the sort would appeal more to your needs.

If your picking it up and playing a bit and then putting it in sleep mode and playing some more, The battery last for ages in sleep mode. And listening to music will let you get more hours out of it than just playing games. I like having both handheld and charge one while playing the other.

Find a nearby outlet, or pickup an external USB battery pack to get you through the long nights.

I constantly put 7-8 hours playing PSP rpg's on my VITA and still have enough battery left to do whatever I need. Somedays after a long session I'll just put the VITA in sleep mode with 1/3 battery left and forget about it a few days and come back and it has enough for another decent game session.
