i dunno considering you got PSP (from PSN), PSone (soon after launch) and PS Vita games.
is it really necessary to demand PS2 games? were you really pinning your hopes on PS2 compatibility given that 1. PS2 library on PSN is basically 7-9 games, and 2. no mention or hype be it from the media, or the people has been made about it?
I don't think it's an impossiblity but i think Sony's focus is trying to get their Vita games going, and bring onboard their PSone games as they have said.
That's not really fair. One of the strenghts of PSP is that it brings a home-console-like experience to a handheld (which is a different approach from their main competitor, in my opinion) and part of that is you can play previous generation home console games on it. In my opinion, the PSP is completely worth getting only for the PS1 games. (It is also worth getting only for PSP games, of course.) I could see how it'd be a big detractor for a lot of people that we're not getting similar backwards compatability w/ its successor.
That being said, while I would like to see some of the great PS2 games available on Vita, I'd still prefer they focus on providing original content as good and better than these old games.
PS2 games on the Vita would be great. Believe me, I'd love for it to happen, but to not buy the Vita because it can't play PS2 games seems to ignore the fact that the Vita will have its own quality software. To miss out on what will be a great system because of older games just doesn't make sense to me.
This is just a guess but I do have a feeling that PS2 games on Vita will happen eventually. There's a lot of money to be made if Sony gets the PS2 store up on Vita. There's just so many amazing PS2 games that lots of us would re-buy for the Vita. Just a guess, of course, but I'd be surprised if we never see PS2 games on the Vita.
As for the lack of L2/R2/L3/R3 buttons, the functions of those buttons can easily be mapped to the touch screen and touch pad. It may not be perfect for every game, but the majority of games I suspect would work just fine, IMO.
Think about of all the new fresh games that are going to be available. Something different and exciting for a change. I'm sure I wouldn't keep playing same ps1/ps2 games all the time. Sony should focus on making new games not old games again and again. That will get BORING!!!!!
The point isn't playing ps2 games on a tv...the point is playing them anywhere which I've wanted to do for an extremely long time, and the fact that Sony isn't going to incorporate this discourages me a bit... As for ps1 and psp games on the Vita...meh. I already have a psp for that, and the ps2 is my most favorite console, so I REALLY hoped Sony would do it but hopefully they will reconsider later on. Yes I probably will get a Vita eventually, but not as soon as I hoped. Otherwise it would have been a first day purchase despite the high price. But I suppose when it gets better games than the average looking launch titles.Playstation 2 is $40 at gamestop. A PS Vita is $250.
I'm pretty sure you can cough up $40 dollars for a PS2 if your getting a Vita

That Sony has no plans for PS2 games available on PSN for the Vita. Are they mentally challenged or how else could they not understand how many people would want to be able to play PS2 games on it? http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-17-sony-no-plans-to-bring-ps2-or-ps3-games-to-ps-vita Sorry I am too tired to link it, my eyes are burninggarathe_denI know what you mean man, I really hoped the 3DS would play Virtual Boy games. Cant tell you how pissed that made me.
