I was at Gamestop last night, looking at the PS3 and decided I want one. I just want to know which one I should get, cuz there are 50 different models to choose from it seems. I think im sold on the MGS4 Edition. The price is good, it comes with a game and a dual shock controller. So here are my questions:

Does the above mentioned model play PS1 and PS2 games? ( have over 200 games for those systems)

Whats with the yellow light of death? (I own a 360, I know all about hardware problems)

Does it play blu-ray movies?

Is 60 GB enough space?

Is 499 too much to pay for this bundle?

Thanks for any input, and hope to see you on PS Network soon.

Yes, it plays most PS1 and/or PS2 games. I've seen anywhere from 80% to 98%, depending on who you ask.

Don't know much about the yellow light. Sorry.

Yes, all PS3 models play Blu-Ray discs.

Yes, 60GB should be enough space. Although the MGS4 bundle is an 80GB. IF you decide later that you need more space, upgrading the HDD is simple.

Personally, I think $499 is a really good deal. You have to consider what you're getting... a top of line Blu-Ray player (at least $299), a top of the line game system (cheapest xbox is $279), and basically an all inclusive media hub for your home (stores music, photos, videos, movies, games, etc.).

it plays blu-ray movies. i have a 40 gb so a 60gb should be enough.. even if it isnt you're free to get a external hard drive with 250gb or more.. so thats no prob. and 499 is a pretty good price in my opinion.. i dont know much the yellow light.. but from what i searched about it it might just be a HDD connection problem in the playstation, so its nothing special.. but if it isn't that it might just be a problem due to overheat. regarding the option of playing ps1 and ps2 games i dont know it that version has it.. but i THINK SO.. not sure tho.. but i think it does. get a ps3, its worth it! =) =P
