The game can only be played online, so when you play in split screen mode, you are automatically open to other players so they could join. Just create a split screen game and allow more than two players in the game then other people could join and you will have a normal game then.

I'll make it easy for you.

Look for a white server.

Make sure it has a trophy with a red x through it on the very left.(just make sure something is there. It's hard to see the X on sdtvs)

move the right thumbstick down.This will scroll the text in the right box. Make sure split screen enabled is checked.

Join the server if all above is ok and there is at least two slots open.

As soon as you enter a game press start on the second controller.
