Well its definitely different compared to Resistance. Better is a really opinionated thing. What didn't you like about Resistance and what do you usually like in games?
Warhawk is definitely a good holdover game. I played it (and Bioshock) leading up to Halo 3. Since Halo 3 was released, however, I have played Halo and nothing else (except for The Simpsons demo on the PS3). Warhawk is fun and addictive, but the limited number of maps (five, I think, and two of them I hate) get a little repetitive after awhile. There are at least a few weeks of enjoyment to be had there. As far as I'm concerned, RFOM is mediocre at best and has NOTHING on Warhawk, so don't worry about that.
