I was sorely dissapointed with Warhawk.
To start off with there is no in game tutorial to give you the basics, you basically just have to join a server and learn as you go, so for the first few hours it was just a confusing mess. Then as I got the hang of the game I found that getting into a Warhawk meant certain death as there are already players who domninate the sky and wont let you live longer than a few seconds, so dogfights rarely happen.
If your not getting your ass handed to you in the sky, your on the ground which is just as bland. Unless your in a tank or jeep your basically mince meat for the Warhawks that hover around and pick off soldiers fighting other soldiers and the fact that you respawn with nothing but a pistol means that before your worth anything in a shootout you have to run around aimlessly looking for a weapon. Plus you can't aim them properly as there is no over the shoulder aiming system which makes infantry combat really bland.
It's a mess of a game really.
This is why there are lvl 1 servers. They are for people with less than 5000 points. 5000 points is 1 days worth for the good pilots, and they can't get into these games. You also spawn with 2 grenades and a knife, which is all you need to survive, if you know what your doing. You always spawn by better weapons anyway. Any warhawk that is hovering trying to take out ground troops is most likely going to get shot down by other pilots, or ground troops in tanks, turrets or with rocket launchers. If they hover low enough, proxy mines and flamethrower will take them down too. Sounds to me like you just suck at the game and you think it's the games fault.I was sorely dissapointed with Warhawk.

Well being Australian means if I want to play on a server with a decent latency I have the choice of 2 servers, 1 being empty 90% of the time and the other being full with most of the Aussie Warhawk owners. It may the case in America or Europe where there is a plethora of servers to choose from, however in Aus we don't get that luxury.

I think you need to play the game more. If you want to get into a dogfight, try going into deathmatch or team deathmatch and going into a dogfight specific match. When you're on the ground, you can get the homing missle which can easily take down a warhawk. And that pistol is more than enough to keep you alive. I've killed plenty of people with that pistol. Just keep at it and you'll get better.

I'm in Australia (Melbourne to be exact) and I have no issue playing on US or European servers. I'm not sure what kind of connection you're on but I'm on 24 mbit down and haven't had any issues with lag at all. Warhawk takes practice not much else to say. Both are awesome. Don't listen to these people that don't like Warhawk. All aspects of the game is great whether you want to fly, tank, or on foot the game is great. You just have to learn which weapons work better. Like the flame thrower, it is great against tanks if you are on foot. UT3 is also great. Hands down the best Multiplayer game franchise on the computer come to the PS3. Get both and have fun!!d14m23
I, personally, think Warhawk is the better of the two. UT3, while well made, just has a hollow feel to it. pros for it include a nonexistant learning curve, you can pick up a gun and seriously kick some rear with little to no Fps experience. Cons are lack of skill, the online (depending on your area) could be crappy, uncoordinated, and such ans such.
I, personally, prefer warhawk because it does have a learning curve. It makes it all the more satisfying when you hop into a warhawk and shoot a more competant pilot out of the sky. The flight controls are easy to understand and learn. All you need to do is spend some time with it and you will be good.
Overall it will really come down to a personal preference, some people like the mindless death and carnage of UT3, others like the feel you get from warhawk.

Oh, I wasn't saying UT3 is better. It really depends on the person.
Flying the Warhawk is so freakin' addicting. There is nothing more satisfying than winning a dogfight.
I love both. All depends on what I am in the mood for.
UT3
Pros:
Mods (can add to a whole new type of gameplay), easy to learn, bots, easy to get a quick game going both on/offline excellent graphics, you dont get mad that easily
Cons:
horrible graphics if you play on an SDTV (trust me i know), no alot of people online (will change when it comes out in Europe), gets repetetive real quick, campaign is a joke
Warhawk:
Pros: 32 player online, huge battles, ground, air, etc sits your fighting technique decent graphics both on SD and HDTV (not as good as UT3 on HDTV though) Really fun and ADDICTING once you get the hang of it. Kills are more satisfying
Cons: steep learning curve, can get really frustrating, your gonna die alot, flying in warhawk on pro for the first time will make you want to kill yourself,no campaign
I'd go with warhawk, stronger online community and more to do in game. UT3 is still by far one of the best games Ive ever played even without bots, its a great game to get if your internet sucks since it has bots. Plus mods can change the game drastically. Theres like about 50+ mods for the PS3 out now.

I totally disagree. I play all my games on an SDTV and this looks good.

well then its probably my SDTV it flat out sucks, but no worries i got an HDTV now:D
get warhawkbazookajoe19
I say get both. Warhawk is a unique third person shooter in which you have all kinds of capabilites with the aircraft (from movement to weaponry). UT3 is another first person without multiplayer splitscreen, but it's beginning to show it's gonna 'stay fresh' for a minute. You have the option of freely downloading mods for the game and a splitscreen patch may become available in the future.
Just my thoughts. I own both myself and enjoy them equally whenever I play them.
