Warhawk servers shutting down

I was at ebgames and couldn't find a copy of Warhawk. I asked the guy when he was getting it in. He told me that sony is cancelling all shipments and that the game servers are not being fixed. I figured he was lieing so i went to Walmart and asked the guy. He told me the same thing. Only the sony store had copies. So i was wondering has anyone heard this rummor. I mean gamespot says there shipping out new copies in Oct 10th. But is it true their leaving the servers alone and not fixing them?RahXephon101

REALLY!! well an eb employee told me that MGS4 is going to 360, that PS3 only has 2 exclusives for 2008, and that the 360 is bluetooth compatible. :roll: don't believe anything EB employees tell you, it works both way though, my local EB said that the 360 had an 85% return rate :P

They are fixing the Warhawk server and why would the stop producing a game that is selling very well?

if there is a shred of truth to this, then the makers of warhawk will have to personally give me my $60 back since they would be no way to play the game ever again.lions_rock_2008

Well, I just got back from my EB asking for the game, the employee told me that its been discontinued. Then I came home and the non headset game release date is set for the 10th of this month on the Eb website.

So there not shutting down the servers, why would they? The game is brand new. And its not like its completly empy and no one plays anymore. It would a waste of developers time to have them spend all their time to make a game and keep it in the market for a month. The headset version has been discontinued to bring the non headset release game in. Which sucks because my usb headset just broke 3 days ago.

Maybe you need to lighten up. If you had even bothered to look at the guy's profile information, you'd know he plays a PS3, and it would appear he enjoys it. He asked a simple question, and he never said anything about Xbox 360. So how is he trolling? So... great job there.

And there is no indication that the servers are shutting down. If you go to either EB Games' or Walmart's website, you'll notice that they are still selling the game. You can't always believe what the retail staff says. They think they know, but they don't. So enjoy the game whenever you pick it up.

They're not going to shut down the servers; this game is huge and the thought of shutting it down is outragious.

The one thing I find interesting is that I didn't know they were discontinuing the $60 with headset version of the game. I heard they were introducing the $40 version without the headset in stores, but I was under the impression that they were just going to have 2 versions available to buy. So, is it really true that the $60 version with bluetooth is really gone?

To be fair, I can see where LordDice is coming from as the recent attempts to troll on this board have usually been phrased in the form of stupid questions.

Like another poster said earlier, Warhawk is an online only game. No one would be stupid enough to sell this game to customers and then shut off the servers just months later. That's a good way to alienate your entire fanbase.

No.1 i would not believe everything you hear from retail, infact believe nothing i come across just as many fangirls in retail as i do in these forums, they talk to you like you know nothing and because they work in retail they know everything, i kind of enjoy proving them wrong while in store but i rarely buy from retail stores i get everything online, its just easier to have it delivered to my door.

NO.2 if i could put i bet on it i'd say warhawk bug's and what not may never get as there's looking like a good chance of incognito being closed down and there devs spread out amongst sony teams, but still if warhawk sells more copies and the communtiy stays alive for the ext six months it will basicly force sony to put some guys on fixing bugs etc etc.

Persoanlly i think the problem with warhawk maybe that they use PS3's for server's, just an assumption but i'd think it be better to use proper servers, i remember seeing the server room on 1 up and its just a couple of racks of ps3's, i could be wrong ps3 may be a great server but i'd think proper servers built for that purpose would be better.

I know one thing i'd be pi**** if they did shut it down, ive only ever played around 1-2 hours on it as ive had too many other games to play( Ninja gaiden sigma,heavenly sword,bioshock,halo 3,fifa 08)and to much work to do so ive never got round to getting really into the game i plan to once i've finished my single player games.

I'd definitly be sending them a letter from my solicitor asking for my £20 back.

But i very much doubt they would shut the servers down(i actually thought you guys were just talking about bug fixes, not shutting the game off) not yet at least maybe once the communtiy died down.

There would be too much bad press from shutting down the servers it would be more beneficial to keep maintaing the servers.

Wow what an A$$ sir. Did you read his post? Unfortunately most eb games and Gamestops are just like his with fanboys working there instead of knowledgeable employees who give you the best system for your needs.

i havent heard anything at all about the servers shuting down. And if they did, you would see a notice when you sign in for warhawk.

I would be mad as all heck if they closed the servers because that would have been a waste of $40. I cant play the game anymore if it was like that.

I find it funny that nobody on the ps3/360 forums can have anything negative to say about that system without being called a troll.

I very much dislike the ps store and the community features infact i think they are terrible now thats just my opinion theres plenty of stuff i love about my ps3 but theres things i dislike sames goes for 360, but a fangirl takes that like "oh no he didnt" everything on my girlfriend(games console) is perfect and your a troll if you think differently.

I wanted to make sure about this game because I'd heard a lot of great things said about it. I was just a little worried because I'd heard about server issues and then the eb guys tells me this. I admit i overreacted, but for 60 dollars I wanted to be sure.

Looks like this thread is setup to try and bash Warhawk and probably an attempt to stop people buying it.. In reality they opened EVEN more servers and are always addressing any issues the game may have.. (which afaik there are no issues left to fix now)

Man seriously, almost all the game stores around here are like that!! Mainly EB and Gamestop, Game Crazy is always pretty objective, but when I bought my PS3 at an EB, the guy tried to tell me it was just a display box, and when i pushed him further, he actually tried to tell me he was gonna refuse to sell it to me because he wanted the PS3 to die. he was THAT hardcore a fanboy, so i told him I was gonna call his district manager and get him fired for being an as****e, and he finally sold it to me, all the while doing just enough subtle insulting to not get himself in trouble.

Ever since, I refuse to shop at another EB, whenever I walked into one, they all have 360 shirts on, and whenever I buy a multiplat game on PS3, they laugh at me, and I usually end up telling them to go **** themselves and getting kicked out of the store for owning a PS3.
