I disagree. I'm having a great time with RE5. Sheva did not display "dumb AI" until I started playing on professional difficulty, at which time she definitely became stupid. Like I said, though, up until then, she was, for the most part, great. It's just about managing her inventory for her and knowing how to use her in each situation.
The story, yeah, there were moments I was like "WTF?", mostly later in the game, but there was some good moments story-wise, too.
Personally, I love RE5. I've beaten it three times, purchased all of the weapons, upgraded most of them fully with infinite ammo, unlocked the infinite ammo rocket launcher, purchased lots of the in-game unlockables, and I've played online co-op with my best friend. Right now I'm working my way through professional difficulty and finishing up my search for emblems.
An excellent game, IMO.
It's overtaken RE0 as my least favourite game in the series.
I've said it before in other threads, but Sheva is tacked on and adds NOTHING. She has absolutely nothing to do with the story and her only purpose is to pull a few levers and help you open some doors. At least Billy in RE0 actually had a part to play in the overall story and had a reason to be there. They never even made an attempt to write Sheva into anything, it's all about Chris.
I love Resident Evil 5. I love it so much I got every single achievement(have it for 360) for it and I am no achievement/trophy whore. I WANTED to get the achievements because I liked it so much. I went through Professional difficulty with ease because I had the Hydra, Magnum and Rocket Launcher with Infinite Ammo.
I love RE5. And I mean I looove it. But I must express my disappointment when halfway through it turned into a...

Cover shooter. It would've been fine had the game mechanics been better, but the cover system is trash. And I'm fine with the stop and shoot mechanics to add tension, but once it turns into a cover-based shooter, all of that is lost anyways, so why not just give me better gameplay mechanics?
Other than that, RE5 is one of my favs in a long time.
I'm not dissapointed but I think it was sort of lacking a little. It didn't feel as epic as RE4. The story was a lot better and more intense in RE4 because it had more characters involved, Ada Wong, Krauser, even that stupid annoying midget boss played a big role.

Why'd you get it on PS3? I heard the 360 version is better. I'm not sure which version to get.now i haven't played the game.
i have never played the resident evil games before, i alwayes wanted to get into but neve did, but when i kept hearing that resident evil was a survival shooter instead or survival horror game, i lost interest, don't get me wrong it looks like a really fun game, but from the highly acclaimed resident evil franchise i wanted something different i wanted what the game was known for horror, last good horror game i played was probably F.E.A.R.
So yes i was dissapointed. Thus i did not buy the game, also i did not like how capcom was going to charge for something that should of been on the disc, so i voted with my wallet, or should it be protested with my wallet, whatever...
what i really hate is how they justified charging for it...
Capcom: Bu bu bu but the dlc had a seperate budget to the game.
You think i give a fack if it had a seperate budget, how the hell does that justify you charging for it, seems like your accounting department is lazy, thats all i'm hearing.

Deathtransit
My cousin has the 360 version and there is no difference between the two.
Besides, when it comes to consoles, the PS3 is my preferred system, and it's the console I buy all console games on. I use my 360 for exclusives and that's it.
No, but there are somethings that are annoying me. Eg, I'm in chapter 4-2 and both Chris and Sheva were badly injured. We did the assist jump so she could jump over to get one of those 3 emblem things. There was a green herb on the floor and she walked past it. Even though we were both badly injured, she WALKED RIGHT PAST IT. I must have done the assist jump at least 4 times and every single time she would COMPLETELY IGNORE the green herb and ran past it. It's pathetic, Capcom deserve a slap considering RE5 was in development for 4 years.
/rant
Other than that, RE5 is awesome :D
Not at all, I think story wise it does a very, very good job in closing all the loose ends. Also when I have played it in Single Player I have never noticed any problems with Shiva's AI.
I love Resident Evil 5 (PS3) it is everything I was hoping it would be and much more! if it doesn't get action/adventure game of the year I'll be very suprised!
