Was Anyone Majorly Disappointed In Killzone 2?

The other day I decided I was sick of getting shot in the face on Modern Warfare 2, so I figured I would but the new Killzone game (newish), which has been out for a while now meaning the price went down a bit. So I popped in the game, started playing, and I hated it. It's nothing like the original Killzone. The original Killzone was fun and exciting, this game is just a bunch of, in my opinion, fake looking visuals and clear rips of pre-existing guns (yes I know some real guns were added). I mean come on, the one rifle looks like an M1-Garand. Needless to say the game is getting returned.

I always thought Killzone was amazing, but this just turned me away.

It's not just the guns, you see, it's about the fact that it's lost all fun gameplay. The graphics are supposed to be stunning, it looks like someone took pictures of real things and pasted them over everything. Not good looking as it looked like everything was layered.

Let me get this straight... you bought a science-fiction futuristic game, and you want the guns to look realistic? Makes absolutely NO sense. Killzone 1 was a bland, boring, overhyped game that didn't do much for anyone. Killzone 2 is one of the PS3's killer apps. Hmm, I think you are the only one that feels this way.

I know. The graphics in KZ2 are some of the best I've ever seen.

So a 1080p Blu-Ray game for PS3 isn't as good looking as a 480i CD-Rom game for PS2?

i hated this game aswell and its mainly because of the guns and the movement. why is it that some supposedly top notch elite soldier (sev) runs like he is wading through cement? surely hed be trained to move quickly even when weighed down. id understand if he was humping a bergen around or the LMG but even when your carrying the smg you run around like your pregnant! then the guns are rubbish how about a little more variety? instead of only 2 AR's 2 LMG's 1 sniper i (rubbish useless) rifle 1 SMG and so onwhy couldnt they have a had a huge variety to choose from like most good games have now?

P.S they never truly fixed the aiming if you ask me!

i didnt really like the acr for online i never seemed to get kills with it. but i just prestiged and i cant wait to get the ak-47 again that gun is awesome on mw2

People don't seem to understand that photorealistic =/= good graphics. Killzone 2 was even more boring to look at than it was to play.

But really...does every FPS have to have the same 'feel' to it???? Can't we have 1 different??? Just one, where you have to actually aim yourself instead of being over-aided??? Just one to break the mould a little???

No I was not. It delivered exactly what was promised, and what I expected. A futuristic sci-fi FPS with top of the line production values. I actually appreciated the weight to your movement and actions, that's unique amongst the generally stale FPS fare we get these days. Uniqueness is usually celebrated by gamers. Yet a good deal of KZ2's critics would suggest that every FPS should feel and play the exact same way. It boggles the mind.

I loved Killzone 2, i just thought it played great.

I was very disappointed with the voice acting and controls. The voice acting is a small step above bad. Im so tired of hearing Rico's voice or whoever it is that briefs you on the mission in SP and MP. Its the typical commander guy that yells and seems like hes having a bad day.

Controls, we all know. Slow acceleration adds a nice weight to the guns but controls have an input delay so that ruins what they were trying to do with that.

SP really lacks some epic moments. Its always fight Helghast, meet up with team. Gameplay is great though. Pretty good game but definitely overhyped. Kinda leaning to the average shooter. Could have been perfect if they fixed those issues.

When I first played Killzone 2 I was amazed. It took about 3 playthroughs to finally get bored of it. I think it's just a plain awesome game, and the developers did a great job.

Killzone 1 was pretty much crap. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. Killzone 2, on the other hand, actually delivered.

Killzone 2, in my opinion, was kind of terrible. Sure the graphics were amazing, but the controls sucked balls. I mean it takes like 2-3 seconds for the aim to move an inch.

Not in the slightest, that games was amazing.

P.S i dont know where half of u are talkin from, but they had a patch to fix that delay with the exception of the weight to the gun still being there. the feelin of havin a heavy gun or running and stuff still was there, but the whole delay thing, come on, they patched it and fixed it and ADDED the option to either enable it or disable. so the delay thing cant be a excuse, if u still experience it then go to ur options and enable it , simple as that

The wheightered movements are the best thing in this game ( way better than COD, where you can turn 180° faster than God ), weapons are really well balanced, without mentioning the awesome graphics.

I was. The game was indeed beautiful, but the single player was sh*t&Multiplayer takes forever to get in a match and everything is just too slow. I dont really like the sluggish controls, i know its intended for a more realistic experience but still. I'd much prefer COD's quick arcade style type multiplayer + MW2's singplayer was pretty damn good.

Come on guys! Killzone2 is one of the best polished games and it shows how much work the developers did! the controls are not what everyone is used to and the multiplayer can be a little random and chaotic! but as i said, what amazes about the game is thinking how much effort the developers had to put to deliver this game!

Maybe I was a bit agressive, but posts like his one REALLY pisses me off.

They don't know nothing about the game, but keep complaining about it, like I said many times on PS3 and KZ2 boards, it just takes a while to get used ( specially controls ).

I know, no one has to love this game, but this is far from being a bad one ( way better than all COD's, IMO ).

killzone 2 is a great FPS. The single player campaign is a good time (difficult too) and the online multiplayer is awsome too.

IMO they should never have touched the controls from the very beginning but all the COD fanboys started their complaining.

This. Plus you are saying the game isn't looking good? poor fella, you'll have hard times finding a better looking fps than killzone 2

The game was alright. Definitely not one of the best I've ever played, but it was still fun for a while. Once you get up to general in the multiplayer though there's really no incentive to keep playing. Most of the games play out the same and it just seems like they could've done something more to keep players in it for the long run. I haven't popped it in my PS3 in months.

personally i loved the game, the story, and when you shoot the enemy actually takes cover, the controls were fine unlike some ppl say they are not good...

online was fun aswell..overall good game with beautiful atmosphere
