It could very well be the secret game. I know that I was surprised by it. I mean 256 player muliplayer? I was impressed when I heard R2 could have 60 players in a match. Dang that game sounds cool.

That's eaxactly what I said :|. I said to my older bro that if people are impressed with 60 player online in R2, what will they think of the 256 online in MAG?
I was really anticipating them dropping Heavy Rain as the surprise...logan2k_17
Yea, no Heavy Rain was the only let down for me.
Wasn't this great surprise supposed to be graphically stunning? If so then Zipper must have pulled a 180 :P, I mean look at SOCOM Combined Assault, even by PS2 standards that was ugly. They have always been about gameplay, though it still could very be the famed 'secret game' haha.csqwared
That's what I heard too: the game's visuals was something that could make your jaw drop to the floor. But wasn't that like a rumor? In any case that visually stunning game may or may not exist. Who knows. Maybe we need to wait for TGS.
But then again, MAG seems to be a pleasant surprise.

I wonder if the squad systems really gonna work...I mean yeah...they told us that there are gonna be squad leaders but what if people just dont listen to the squad leaders or what if the squad leaders are total douchebags? I'm just wondering because Ive never really played a game where teamwork always works...theres always the person who's too "smart" for tactics and decide to be the "hero" But hey...if I've heard that tactical teamwork can work on SOCOM then I'm sure Zipper will deliver it properlyBecent
Another game with a pack-in mic maybe? Y'know, so people don't have an excuse for not communicating and all that. Maybe they'll give bonus points for friendly fire if the officer tells you to kill them :P oh that would make me soooo happy.
i think the name Massive Erection Game sounds cool. AnthonyLuufixed :D :P i really can't wait to see more about this.
[QUOTE="bigLLL"]Dang that game sounds cool.

In premise it sounds cool. Now think about it this way:
255 kids screaming into their mic...
256 people = MASSIVE LAG
And that strategy element? It won't exist. Everyone will just run-n-gun by themselves and then it'll just be a giant Halo-ish game

no just listen.
they showed that video of the game for a reason, they spent all of that time explaining ranks for a reason.
massive shooters have used this technique before, ask any pc gamer, and it works. what will happen is based on how good every played is they will be allocated a rank. so normal players will just be the average soilder, then the slightly better ones who are good at leading will be the 8 team squad leaders. Then you will have a leader for al division of squads, then the master leader.
some people will be ordinary soilders, some in tank divisions, some pilots and some parachutists. so everyone will be told what to do by their immediate leader, who will be told what to do by their leader.
If you dont do what you are asked to, you get left out, simple. what are you going to do, stand there? I am sure they wiill also score you on how good you did. so while 3 teams are at the front, one might be told to go and flank. re enforcements will be respawned people.
it sounds like they are doing all they can to make it tactical, and it works, it has done before. I remember playing a game like this once on the pc and it was amazing.
I doubt there will be lag, massive servers will do the trick.

No, you're wrong in many different ways :P,
The PS3 can already handle massive maps (Warhawk, Bad Company) with no lag whatsoever.
By utilizing dedicated servers (MMOs), 256 players shouldn't be a problem.
Plus the fact that it's made by Zipper and was Sony's "big" announcement, I don't think they'll let this game be bad.
As for the "255 kids screaming into their mic," that won't be a problem. The voice communication is set to work similarly to Battlefield. People are going to be divided into 8 player squads, where people can only communicate with their squad memebers except for the squad leader who will likely communicate with the other squad leaders, etc.
Really, Sony/Zipper wouldn't let things like that "slip" by.
