Was RAGE everything you thought it would be

I was very happy with RAGE, regardless of others opinion. why? The game so far is full of suspence and many challenges from races, missions and just awesome gun fights and weapons. In my opinion this a game with a touch of fall out, Border lands and a fast paced FPS. I also am enjoying all the cut scenes and as far as the texture pop ups, thats because in an open board you some times adjust to the enviroment and again this is my opinion. I have got through to three bosses so far and it just keeps better, also I have played multi player a couple times and it too I am enjoying. Hope you enjoy RAGE!!!!

Short answer: Yes.

No it's not even close to what I thought it would be. I was expecting something with an involved story, plenty of PRG elements, open world exploration, etc. What I got was a very ordinary shooter that takes four hours just to get going.

I'm enjoying the game.

It's more than I thought it would be, this game has the best graphics/engine ever on consoles, I wish id sells its engine to some developers so we enjoy fast games as rage. Rage might not have the best story but its gameplay is really engaging and makes you play for a long time, open world can be boring but with a fast game like rage is not

Well for me, I bought Rage and Dark Souls on the same day with really high expectations for both. Now when I first put Rage in, I fell in-love straight away. The graphics were stunning, the engine was so smooth and I know it won't enter most peoples mind but I'm a computer animator so the animations always stick out loads to me, and they look like they've actually been done by someone who knows what they're doing, which is rare in games (I.e Dead Island).

Anyway as time has gone on, the above still draws me in but I think the story is really lacking. There are a lot of "go fetch me this" type missions which I find very boring and more of a time filler than an engaging experience.

But saying that, I could just be saying that because I'm playing Dark Souls along side Rage and Dark souls has the most eerily engaging atmospheres in any game I've ever played. No matter how many times I die and want to rage quit, it just pulls me straight back in.

Anyway back on topic, great game but is not without its faults in terms of a story. Well worth a buy though.
