First off please don't type in all caps. Not only is it rude but it makes people give you less respect than you might want.
There isn't much of a difference except that there is 40 more gigs on the 80. Backwards compatability is about the same (but will never be as good as a 60gb PS3). Flash cards don't really matter because you can still use a FAT32 formated thumb drive and thumb drives are cheaper and more common. SACD won't matter unless you are willing to drop the cash to get a sound system good enough to make having SACD a difference. It is really up to you but if I had to make a call I'd get the MGS4 40gb bundle.

Last time I checked the 80 gig is backwards compatible with ps2 and ps1 games while the 40 gig is only backwards compatible with ps1 games. Is this still the same or has something changed?First off please don't type in all caps. Not only is it rude but it makes people give you less respect than you might want.

You are correct.
WELL i had a 60gb ps3 then it broke then i got given a 80gb for FREE wooo
anyways i can easy fill my 80gb lol
but it depends weather u like
- downloads
- music / videos / pics
- playing old ps games
- having 4 or 2 usb ports i use all of my 4 ports lol
good luck with making ur disition
but remember DO NOT GET A XBOX 360!! thier just overall **** :P
60gb's are gonna be hard to find and i gurantee you that you have almost no chance of getting a brand new one. you might be able to get a used one but it might have a little scratches but aslong your not a 70 year old grandmother who dosent let people touch their stuff you should be good.
80gb would be alot better though. it has 4 usb ports as opposed to the 40 with only 2. that can be a problem at times. i always have an extra usb keyboard pluggeed in to type quicker so theres 1 taken up. a flash drive to transfer pics, videos, and songs. now you already maxed out on a 40gb.and then if you have a non sony controlleer theres another, followed up by a game like rockband or guitar hero which take up even more. iguess you could use a usb hub but then i tried to use 4 different ones and ps3 would read none of em.
And then there is no ps2 backwards compatibility.that can get annoying when you want to play a ps2 game and dont want to drag it out and plug all of that horrible stuff in.
Just get a 80gb or 60gb model, 40 is absoulutly horrible and the only people who will tell you its not are people stuck in their hole defending their purchase. but really now why dont you get a 360? im completly fed up with my ps3 and im on the verge of lighting it on fire.i think you would get more moneys worth out of a 360 and now i just gotta leave before rabbid fanboys attack me.
wow. get out you moron. you want to make fun of people? why dont you go waste more time in church only to find out when you die you just ******* rot in the groundThe 80gb is better then the 40gb you retar wait i'm not going to finish that becuase i'm a chrstian.

I have the 60Gb model, but the only thing it has that I find useful that the 40Gb doesn't have, is the backwards compatibility. The 80Gb model has extras like being able to hold more bluetooth devices and having more USB slots, but I only use 1 USB slot at a time (to charge my spare controller) anyway.
If it were my decision, I'd get the 40Gb and use the money saved on passing on the 80Gb to get a game or 2. That's basically all I use my PS3 for at the end of the day - to play games - hence the more games the better.

I WANT TO BUY A PS3 BUT IM NOT SURE WHICH ONE TO GET A 40 GB OR 80GB I LOOKED UP THE DIFFERNCES AND 40 GB DOESNT HAVE A FLASH CARD READER AND SACD SUPPORT ARE THOSE IMPORTANT WHICH ONE IS BETTER_full_metal_depends. if you want PS2 games to play then get the 80. if not get the 40gig moddle take the 100 bucks you saved and get a 250+gig harddrive. that way you have a 250+ gig PS3 for the price of a 80 gig moddle. of course that only aplies if you do not care about PS2 games. Also the 40 gig moddle has the cooler running CPU.
