While updating Lumines my screen went to black and my ps light kept flashing. I couldnt turn it on but luckily, after googling what to do, I got it to restart and install the Lumines update.

If anyone gets this just hold the Power button for about 30 seconds until the light stop flashing and comes back on to a "bios" like screen. Hopefully all you have to do is restart the vita and ur good to go. But if it doesnt then you may have to factory restart or reformat the memory card.

Anyone else get the blue light of death?

Oh boy not this $hit again..katana_duo

what do you mean?

On a Side note: I went back to the site that gave me the resolution and one major problem is the Unit 13 demo, thou its not the reason that messed up mine. So if you have the Unit 13 demo be careful not to have any other tabs open. Especially the web browser

I got the blue light of death 2 days ago after playing the Unit 13 demo. Does anybody else's Vita go into sleep mode at random while it's on? That's my problem i've been having with the vita. It goes to sleep either while im playing or after a handful of seconds of inactivity

I had the BFLoD last night, but i also found out how to reset the Vita by holding the power button down for 30 seconds. Everything works fine. Im sure it is just a problem that can be solved through firmware updates rather than being a hardcore hardware failure. I would not put too much worry into this matter myself.

That is going into sleep mode, you can change the amount of time it goes into sleep mode in the system settings. That could be the problem ?

no, with me the entire screen locked up and could not be shut down. It literally would not turn off. I was beginning to panic but i figured out how to reset the unit through trial and error.

Word of advice is dont play the Unit 13 demo and, like in my case, make sure the vita doesnt go into sleep mode while installing game updates.

I dont understand why everybody gets so freaked out about this "OH NO IT IS THE NOTORIOUS BLoD!!! AHHH!!! AHH!!!!!" its nothing terrible, its just a bug. New systems have bugs. I'm sure this will be fixed in a firmware update in the near future. The first time this happened to me, my reaction was not to panic, my reaction was to think to myself "Hmm, this is odd, lets see if holding down the power button until the device shuts off will fix this." And it did.

"Of death" would imply hardware failure, a bricked system. It would be more accurate to call what you had a freezing issue. Coining yet another LoD for yet another system is just sort of tiring. Especially when the death part isn't terribly accurate.

There's no such thing as a perfect product, all have their issues. I haven't had any problems so they might be defective

I don't think it's a system error. It has to do with the update you did. So, restarting what you did would be ok. Your system didn't crash

I've played my Vita for 25+ hours and I haven't had a single problem. I'm sure it's something that can be fixed with an update, just give it some time.

Just got it for the first time playing the Unit 13 demo. It hung on me, so I quit the application then tried to start it again, but after the home music continued to play, I figured something was wrong. I tried shutting down the system, and then it gave me that rotating circle thing and wouldn't shut off. While I was researching, it finally shut off, but wouldn't turn back on again. I had to hold the power button down for 30 seconds to get it to go into safe mode. Then, I was able to click restart.

Meh, brand new system, brand new problems, firmware updates will fix them. Let's not get bent out of shape here. Sony will fix them, and it will be all good:)
