So everyone was saying this game was super easy but I am getting killed a lot.

So I'm level 16 as Roland and i got to the mission where u kill sledge. I started on my way to him and the guys were really good so I went back to do some other missions to level up some more and find some better weapons.

So then i go find another mission and I have to go meet some guy and fight in the "arena" against a bunch of dogs. The first couple rounds were pretty easy, but the oneI am on now they send like 8 monster wolves and 2 that are even bigger and on fire. All of them barely seem to take any damage from any of my weapons, they all only do like 25% damage against them. I bought my first rocket launcher that does 258 damage and it only hits these guys for like 70-80! They knock my shields down constantly with one swipe, so I am always jumping around like crazy trying to dodge everyone. ive tried a bunch of times and they kick my ass, and I'm not even close to killing em all.

so what should I do? Just go back to some easier enemies and try to level up some more? I havent had that much trouble up to this point and Ive found some pretty good weapons. I am just playing by myself, not bothring to try to get in any games online. So anyone have any advice?

First of all you need to look at level recommendations on missions. You where appropriate level for Sledge at 16. Secondly you need to pick a weapon class and stick with it as you will level up that weapon skill and improve your overall character damage/reload...

What skills have you chosen with your soldier class? This is also very important. I made my soldier a badass rifleman and have been working on his assault rifle skills.

Get the best armor you can that also heals so you do not have to carry a bunch of healing into battle as well. Hope this all helps. I own the game for the 360 but if you have any other questions/issues send me a message and I will try to help you.

Do all the side quests first.. once you've done those, you should be at like, level 18 or 19, and the Kill Sledge quest should be at a difficulty of "Trivial" by then.

The game is ridiculously easy if you do all the side quests first, then go to the main quest. Not only does it force you to get as much out of the game as you can, but you get strong to the point where you breeze through all the main quests.

I went out to a different area I hadnt been to yet and the guys were good but beatable, went up to 17 and found a good SMG with 3x electric damage and went back to the dogs and it helped a lot. I'm going to go do a bunch of side missions now and then go back to the main mission guy. thanks for the help.

Should i try to join some games online? is it fun to play with random people online?

Whats the best way to use the skill points with Roland? I probably should have picked a different character if i was going to play solo the whole way. Is the game more fun solo using one of the others?

Oh just wait till you have to face sledge a second time. I thought playing as the tank would be the best decision, soaking up a lot of damage, while dealing out a lot. Well that was just wrong. Really wish i was the hunter right now.

You should be able to beat those Skags...I was Roland also had beated all those arenea missions at level 15 I think. Maybe you got try a new approach in your "skill tree" Reset it, and start new. Try upgrading your turret complety or something

It kinda feels like a run and gun mmorpg. Even the skills upgrade thing is kinda like the WoW ability tree, though smaller. You run out, kill 5 skags, pick up loot, return to mission giver, get reward, spend skill points when you level up. Its pretty fun playing with friends.
