I'm asking this cuz POPS doesn't work on my Sony 4gb mem stick but it works on my San Disk 2gb mem stick. POPS is the PS1 emulator made by Sony.

it is the cheapest no doubt. But you get what you paid for.. Most sony brand memory sticks are more expensive indeed, but have a higher transfer rate... a much higher one!

I prefer sandisk. The reason being is that buying Sony mc's from ebay and the like have a higher tendency to be fake and therefore garbage. Sandisk are very rarely fake so if you can find a cheap deal on those, go for it!

It not working on POPS may be an issue with the type of memory it is or even it's size, not the actual brand. A lot of sony's software have issues with HIGH SPEED memory. If your 4GB is Pro Duo HIGH SPEED and not regular Pro Duo, that can be the cause of your problem. SanDisk doesn't sell HIGH SPEED memory, and that's why they may appear more 'compatible'. The only reason to get Sony over SanDisk is if you plan on downloading music/videos from Sony Connect service. Only Sony Pro Duo mem sticks can store copy-protected material from Sony Connect. HIGH SPEED mem sticks are not compatible with Sony Connect. And it is unknown, but it is possible that the future PSP PS1 store may only be compatible with Sony mem sticks, especially if they incorporate the MagicGate DRM protection from Sony Connect. Never ever buy HIGH SPEED memory to use with the PSP.

It is not a High Speed mem stick. I'm just gonna exhange it for a San Disk one since I got my receipt. Another app I tried using on my PSP it said would take 3 mins on a SanDisk but 45 mins on a Sony one. So I think SanDisk are better for apps and all the goodies for the PSP.

San Disk is working for me. I exchanged my 4gb Sony mem stick for a San Disk 4gb mem stick and POPS is working on my San Disk. It wasn't working before on my Sony mem stick. So to answer my own question San Disk!!!!!!!!!
