You're one of very few, most people who go out and buy one now come on Gamespot posting topics about how they've just bought one and how amazing it is. Obviously the PS3 has great exclusives, Home and Sixaxis, which isn't used particularly well at the moment, but there's also Sixense coming out, which looks awesome!
Plus you get to lol at the Xbox fanboys
but if you plan to get a ps3 which you should cos they are great (and im a pc gamer too), i read a topic saying they are going down i price near the end of the year
http://www.voodish.co.uk/articles/ps3-price-drop-for-christmas-2008/
so unless you really want one now, wait till then ^^
So then... why are you here? And what does the 360 have that the PS3 doesn't? Or more appropriately, what doesn't the PS3 have that the 360 will never have?I dont think anyone should own a ps3 at this point because it offers very little compared to the pc and 360.Sorry im just very dissapointed with sony at the moment.

i find computers very anoying because they always go wrong and you have to install games and all that. But with playstation its easy and online is free compared with the xbox 360's subscription.mrsfridgeIf you think computers go wrong now then you never tried setting IRQs and all that other stuff back in the day... Of the sweet times... I use the PS3 for everything other than strategy, there is simply no beating strategy games on the PC. RPGs in particular are superb on consoles in general. If I am to choose only between 360 and PS3, there isnt a whole lot, RROD is one reason and the other was FFXIII which is now coming to the 360.
Most of my gaming I do on the PC, but I'm thinking of changing platforms. What are the advantages of PS3 compared with a PC (build for gaming...ofcourse) ?codrutz
Â
I personally gave up gaming on a PC ever since I got the PS1 10 years ago. Â The advantage of a PC over *any* console is that you don't need to upgrade parts of the PC anymore. Â i.e., the graphics card one year and then the memory next year. Â A console offers uniformity and while yes, you would "have to" upgrade the console from PS1 to PS2 to PS3, while you have that console, you can be guaranteed that any game that says "for PS3" will work. Â No more reading the side of the game box every time or getting something for the kids/grand kids and wondering if you got the right one.
Â
Consoles are made for gaming and have an operating system built for it. Â So, while PCs have a more general OS, consoles have a smaller one made for one purpose.
Â
The downside of console gaming is that consoles are only for gaming. Â While a PS3 can support a keyboard via USB, game makers cannot assume that, as they can with a PC. Â So, a lot of the PC games that require many keys on a keyboard aren't available on consoles. Â And if they do, the game makers have to find ways to get around it.
Â
As for which console, well, technically, the PS3 is more superior, but you should probably see what games each console has that you like and pick based on that. Â I have the PS3, but I can't say it is for everyone. Â And if you pick a console based on what it can do in (say) 1-2 years from now, then you lose 1-2 years of gaming...so pick based on today as well as the future.
Â
Hope this helps!
