Sony is having a bit of a rough time with the PS3, but the European launch really helped it out. I'm just curious, though I don't know all the facts behind it, do you think Sony should consult or at least really research into the struggles Sega had with the Saturn and obviously the Dreamcast? There seems to be some similarities with what's happening with the PS3. I also noticed a lot of Sega published games are saturating the PS3 gaming section of stores. There's a ton from the bad like Sonic, to the good like Armored Core 4. Do you think maybe it would be in Sony's best interest to buyout Sega? Would they be able to help at all with how Sony is currently doing with its gaming division? Sega could help Sony out with its console development and obvioulsy would give us a lot more demanded exclusives. Heck, although the series has fallen on hard times lately, who wouldn't want to buy a GOOD Sonic the Hedgehog game? What do you think?

Yeah, that DOES sound nice. And it certainly sounds nice when Wii60 fanboy gamespot give Secret Rings a good grade when every other important gaming media website and television program hates it. Not to metion, the general public and, magically other than gamespot, the low people grades it gets. *sigh* I tried it, and it's controls are still just as broken....

I'm not sure that buying a developer really fits into Sony's long-term strategy. Please don't hold me to this because I'm a little vague on the details but I remember some time ago that Sony stopped producing games under the 989 label stating that it was going to develop all of its first party games under its own name. Though that doesn't preclude Sony from buying the Intellectual Propery (such as Sonic) and developing a game in-house. However, I see it as unlikely. I don't think that Sega has anything that Sony wants. Sony's first party games are stellar, highly-anticipated, games. I also disagree when you say that there are parallels between the PS3 and the Saturn/Dreamcast. Both Sega's consoles sold incredibly poorly. The PS3 is selling strong. In fact, Sony called this their best launch ever and only missed their goal of shipping 2 million consoles by year end by about five days. They have sold more consoles five months after launch than the competition has and all signs point to continued growth, especially with the lineup of AAA games between now and x-mas.

Well I will put this in for what its worth, You have to remember we are talking about a few months so far on the ps3's life span and as of now has been a very strong launch for the price of the unite. again the competition has been on the market for some time and have out sold the ps3 in gross but in month by month sales the ps3 is in line to break every other launch for there previous consoles. I might add that HDTV's have also seen an  57% jump in sales over the past 4 months and this has much to do with the system. Theres no need to worry if you are a PS3 owner the system will not flop in fact as the figures are showing all signs point to another good run for sony.

sure, but the sonic game for 360 and ps3 both had terrible ratings, and i have to agree with them, maybe not as strongly but it was bad
