I know there's threads about the demo and RE2, but I have some different questions. I think the graphics are really bad and it feels like a combo between quake 4 and call of duty (graphics are very similar to the first call of duty on pc from 4534930 years ago). I paid 25 for it, so not so bad, and the story seems so far (only a few hours in) exactly like quake 4. Is it just me? online is ok, but nothing special when you have vegas 2, graw, halo, mgs4, socom, battlefield, cod4, codwaw, etc. What did other people think of resistance? Why did it get such a great rating and everyone seems to love it so much? How is the 2nd one compared?

Resistance FOM gets way better. The first few levels suck. Wait till you get the shotgun and go down into the dark .

That's because Resistance came out BEFORE those games...

It's the game that got me into online shooters. If that doesn't already say enough, I'll mention that I was completely content playing nothing other than this game for the first year that I had my PS3 (not because there "weren't any good PS3 games" either, but because it was so addicting).

And the second one is even bigger and better (although some like the campaign of the first game better). R2 is the biggest online shooter yet, with up to 8 people in class-based online cooperative multiplayer, and up to 60 people in online competitive multiplayer - all completely lag-free.

I thought it was an amazing game that made me glad to get a PS3 in the first place.

Understandable...............I am definitely the minority when it comes to disliking resistance and halo.................though I am planning on renting resistance 2, I will give it a shot.

i liked the game alot, I'm not even a fps fan but that game got me more into fps then COD4 ( which i liked btw), The gameget so intense at some point. and for me i was already satisfied with the ps2 graphics so anything that at least look like ps2 will never have a problem with me

All the games that you mentioned were released after Resistance: FoM. Of course they're going to have better graphics. Also, its a launch title. Did you expect to get top-notch, up to par graphics? Has that ever been the case with launch titles? No, not really.... As far as the story goes, it is cliche yes. But I have beaten Quake 4 and I wouldnt say the campaign or story bare any resembalance, minus the fact that humans are being converted into the enemy. Which is present is a good 3/5ths of science fiction. The story, storyTELLING, and campaign of Resistance 1 are all much better then Resistance 2. But since it seems you might be focused on the wrong thing (graphics), I guess your gonna have to go for Resistance 2.

I bought Resistance when I first got my PS3 and was so unimpressed that I stopped playing it 3/4's of the way through. I only recently finished it so I could play Resistance 2 without missing any story. Again I am not too impressed with the sequal. The Sequal is a good improvment, but when you have games out like Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty 4, FEAR, it can't hold its own. Im hoping Killzone 2 is a much better FPS.

As a PS3 title and assuming you only own a PS3 I would consider it a good enough FPS, but when you own all systems I consider it a very mediocre FPS.

The game to me feels like its missing something, that I can't quite place. Which holds it back from being a AAA game.

To me it's not about the graphics when I play any game, it's about the gameplay. In the Halo games the thing I like the most is the level designs. Although the games are on a rail, the levels have variety and are well done. The enemies and weapons are all done well, and the story is also pretty good. Overall, I wouldn't say Halo is the perfect FPS, but between what the single player campaign and the great online multi-player have to offer, the Halo games are so worthy of a purchase.

I am playing through the campaign as we speak, however, I am not really amazed with it. I'm very dissapointed that I have to play through on 480p because this game along with R2 output 720p (ridiculous), and my television supports 1080i so it doesnt look that great. And the guns I've gotten so far, shotty, sniper, the 1 that goes through walls, etc...they arent that great. And from someone who has played and enjoyed the likes of Halo, Call of Duty and Gears of War, I'm not amazed. Anyway, when I finishe part 1 I'm moving on to part 2 since I have it already. So anyone who wants to help me play through the campaign, send me a request!
