It makes your PS3 able to detect your PC or laptop wirelessly as a media center so you can listen to all your music, view photos, or watch video stored on your computer/network. that was the previous update. this update isnt a major version just a minor revision. better support for HDMI RGB and a hint of backward compatiblity extra. Nothing to get excited about yet.
