im not impressed at all. first off its 600mb so thats proof that its not high quality, all the bst demos out these days are over 1gb.

started off with the monster truck of course and it looks like something taken from saints row. the car has no detail at all, the tires are jet black there is no faded rubber or a little bit of dirt or dust then to make it worse the treads on the tires look like they were badly glued on by a 6 year old. as far as the driving goes not 1 thing has changed from the first game. cars still "fly" when you go off a ramp and compared to burnout the cars seem really really slow

well this game is crossed off my buy list what about ye?

I agree with where you are coming from, all the textures are flat and blurry too. But it might not be crossed off for me just yet as it would be fun to have another 2 player game.

EDIT: I didn't know the demo has just been put on the store. But i had the demo last month.

The demo was OK, it is from a very old build apparantly and am sure the game will look much better upon release. btw when does MS2 come out?

I couldn't disagree more. This is a first day pickup for me. Its supposed to drive like the first game. No one complained about the way the vehicles drove in the first game other than the somewhat lack of a sense of speed. They definitely ramped that up for Pacific Rift. Besides, its an arcade racer, not a sim. The other big gripes were not enough tracks and lack of an off-line split screen feature. Both of these concerns have been addressed. The graphics are a definite upgrade from the first and are every bit as good if not better than Pure. I can't say a lot for the track, though. Raingod Mesa (the demo track in the first game) was my least favorite race. This version of Raingod might very well be the same. I like tracks with a little more variety to them. This will likely be one of the smallest tracks in the game if not the smallest, just like Raingod Mesa in the first. That would account for the small demo size of 600MB.

I really wasn't impressed with the graphics. Everything else was fine especially the music:D But the course looks blurry and really low-res. In Motorstorm 1 they had it so your vehicle actually made tracks in the ground but the demo didn't have any of that. Hopefully this is an older build.

are you saying the game has great graphics and gameplay and is "way" better than the last motorstorm game? there isnt enough of an improvementover the last game and you know its true but if u like the game then thats your choise im just pointing out that the game isnt up to the quality you expect from most games being released this fall

It's not the size that matters.... Anyway, there are some great games that have small demo DL's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Eternal Sonata isn't gigantic

I'm playing it right now and i have to say its one hell of an improvment and i think it looks pretty good. Only realy problem to point out is that the whole ramming thing with the R1 and L1 buttons is weird... its like a humungeous frame skip and suddenly your on a 45 degree angle... really strange and not really helpful seeing as by the time you go to press the button your near a wall... press it and then your back smashes into the wall... it kinda needs to be fixed if they're still not going to include maps.

Yea, we all know who uses that argument :D

It's crossed off my list too now. I didn't get into the first one, found it a little boring. Hopefully a sequel would ramp up the excitement. But much of the same, way too much of the same.

Yes I am saying the graphics are much better than the first. I dont know why you insist on comparing Pacific Rift to anything but the original and maybe Pure. I played the Pure demo...graphics in Pacific Rift were as good if not better. My previous post listed all the complaints about the original game (sense of speed, offline split screen, not enought tracks). Pacific Rift has addressed every one of these and more, so I dont know where your "isnt enough improvement" comment applies. Motorstorm 1 did quite well in sales, if you remember (well over 3 million in fact). The devs decided not to mess with a formula that obviously works, but instead improve it. What exactly were you expecting anyway? COD4 with monster trucks maybe?

ok. the graphics are not as nice as pure.
not on this build anyway.
there are too many low-res textures, and the lighting just isn't really 'there'.
however, from the screenshots of the build that the media got, right about the time this was released with qore, i can hold out hope that the final game will look much nicer than this demo.
also, what's up with the bunnyhop? needs a few more frames of animation in there.
also, also.... they need the sound guys from WipEout HD on their team :P
the sound leaves much to be desired.

this is probably the most retarded statement I've heard all year. And that's saying alot. only 600mb yeah. That's a big indication of quality. :( :(

I actually think it looks worse than Motorstorm. Also, if these devs expect me to buy one of their games, for the love of god please put in a difficulty setting. It's TOO HARD imo. It's not fun to finish 6/15 because I crashed once or twice and have to run the race again. I'd like a difficulty level that allows me to enjoy the game. I didn't like the Barf-Rock music either. Maybe I'll just pick up Pure since it's clearanced for $42 at my target :D

This isn't motorstorm 2, it's motorstorm pacific rift. This is basically an expansion or update to the other game things that were left out.

Demos are never 100% accurate you know.
