I love the whole package. The physical look of it, the solid build and stable hardware, the way it rarely crashes and needs to be reset, the XMB, the PSN (free fiddy ftw), the wireless controllers and how they feel in my hand, all the AA+ games it has.
It feels like a huge step forward from PS2, while the 360 is more-or-less just XBOX HD (the Core is actually a step BACK from the XBOX, since it's missing a HDD). They wanted to take the success of PS2 (the inferior system last gen) and use it to fund an awesome, technically advanced system that is solid as a rock, and unfortunately people aren't willing to pay the premium. Microsoft rushed the 360 out (obviously, RROD much?), to cash in, and it's been working. I do expect PS3 to turn it around eventually.
Reliability, versatility, and the fact thatit's a 500 dollar HD player. If you wait for the 40 gig... u'll be buying a 400 dollar High Definition Media player... which is pretty damn sick in every way.I wish Heavenly Sword had achievements. Trying to string together a 75 hit streak or something would be impressive. I'm sure when Home comes out you'll be trying to rack up the trophies like everyone else.
I really bought it for the playstation franchises, I.E.Tekken, Grand Theft Auto, Ratchet, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, God of War, and Gran Turismo. I grew up playing those games... they were a big part of my childhood. Now that i'm older and own an HD TV... i figuredwhy not have some fun being a kid again... especially when thegames have come so far. It really is a brave new world... the look and feel of this generation's gamesare truly... awe inspiring.
I also like that you can play a video game onlinefor free. ROFL.
Why would you pay 50 dollars a year for a "gamer score". I mean... wtf? "Hey guys, look i scored 2 goals in fifa 08! I got 200 points that mean absolutely nothing to anyone! What an achievement!"
What a joke is more like it. God Microsoft is lame.H8s2spooge
