This is not a recommend me a game thread. I was wondering if people have switched back from COD W@W to COD4. I loved the first one, but I've never played W@W. Do the features in W@W really do much to change the experience for the better? I also heard that W@W has crappy audio too.

What do you play more now, and whih is the better game??

I have played both campaigns and played COD4 online up to lvl 45. I haven't played World at War much online, as I've only had the game for two or three days, but I think I like COD4 online more - especially for the weapons.

One thing ive noticed... and I dont know why concidering their using the same engine... But with my surround sound set up I can pin point someone a fair distance away with just their footsteps let alone their gunfire in COD4... W@W they could be standing next to you shooting off a machine gun and you think their over the other side of the map. But the worst is the footsteps. I find it virtually impossible to pinpoint someone by them walking/runing. I was in denial for a few weeks but in the end W@W was staying in its case longer and longer.

I do like W@W single player better than COD4 single player, but.

Treyarch failed big time on cleaning up the final product, almost every online map is filled with glitches and exploits.

Makin-Rock, Castle-Under Map, Outskirts-Insivisble tree ledge, etc....i never remember this problem in COD4.

Releasing unrefined product like that is a big fail! Single player is good though.

i prefer COD 4 since the weapons are better and waay stronger than the ol' ww2 guns. I found the campaign in Waw rather repetitive and not as intense as COD4. Online sucks on WaW, especially the rounds when pre-teens yap away constantly, and man there's a lot of those. The only reason why i kept WaW was the Nazi zombie which is awesome. I wish they make new maps though, or hope they bring the zombie mode in the next Cod game.

I have come to find that half the people who talk trash about W@W have never played it or seen their friend play it. It is basically a really big expansion from Modern Warfare but still a great game and doesn't feel like a WWII game. It is well worth the 60 bucks. I will agree they need to patch the glitches though. Seems like every map I play someone is underneath it.

Anyone else? Im wondering what most people's opinions are....

Also, is COD4's community still strong, and has it been dying since W@W came out?

I like them both, it won't be a waste of money if you bought it. The guns in COD4 do have more "thump" to them but that may be because of the style of guns in W@W. But Co-op is hella fun on W@W and so is Zombie mode with three or four people. If you have the spare cash get it you won't be pissed.

Cod waw is basically a copy of cod4, except that the new one has nazi zombies and the different time period. I was able to post 8 days of online time on cod4 and still wasnt bored, but after a couple hours worth of waw i gave up.

I'm sure new maps won't be too far away. To much of a cash cow for Activision and Treyarch to pass up on

Now here's the deal.... WaW still has many of the addictive elements that made MW a great game. Namely a strong story mode (albeit short for MW) and intense multiplayer action. As for MW, the graphics are now a bit antiquated, as in they are not as clear and crisp compared to WaW. WaW's multiplayer can be fun but at the same time extremely frustrating. I find the respawning to be crap, as well as many of the early weapons in the game. Personally, I find the weaponry in MW much more appealing than WaW. There are still some good weapons, attachments and perks but overall i just prefer MW. I also think having tanks in WaW kills the fun of playing many of fthe levels. Nothing more frustrating than finding all the tanks are taken by the other team. Its a recipe for disaster... just having to try to take out a tank can be onerous and getting killed in the process then respawing near another tank can ruin the game quite quickly. One thing I find unfair is that the tank driver\main gunner gets a third person perspective of the battlefield where you are limited to a first person perspective. Give the driver sight advantage with defensive and offensive superiority kills me. Some will say, get a tank and just wipe the board. At the same time, i find driving it slow and often boring and playing top gunner makes you a prime target for snipers. The other non- tank game maps have their limitations as well. Action seems to be clustered around the same spots. Most of them are grey and are not interesting . So i guess my bias towards MW is showing but at the same time I'm still playing WaW (not nearly as much as i ever played MW) probably because of the leveling up is still addictive - still haven't reached 1st prestige - where as in MW i'm at the final prestige. I hope this helps.... if you have any further questions for me I'd be glad to answer......

single player, cod4 takes it home with W@W's balls in its trophy case

but the online, W@W is better, because cod4 vets are on W@W and it gives more of a challenge online than what cod 4 offers these days

Cod 4 is one of the best online experiences i've ever had!

The singleplayer was short but it was good also.
