For example you're interested on 2 games that will be released on the same week, one is a sequel and the other is a new title. Which will you get first?

I always get the new title first because...uhmm...it's new. Hehehe. In sequels I already have an idea on what it is about since I played the previous one (I never buy/play sequels until I played the previous one), so sequels can wait for a while.

Well, considering my recent purchase of Resident Evil 5 I'm going to with sequels. My anticipated and most wanted games are pretty much sequels too: God Of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5 etc... I guess it's the familiarity I have whereas a new game and/or franchise has me leery at first. Always careful about the games I get because $60.00 is ALOT of money so I make sure to read every opinion, preview, review, or anything else that relates to the game.

Assuming I liked the first game, I will prioritize the sequel.

I will get the sequel if you have been looking forward to it for a long time.

Good question. i would have to say I'm more interested in sequels. When MGS 4 came out, I was on it day one. When Uncharted first came out, I bought it a week after its release date.

It depends solely on the predecessor.

I've got to say sequels, at least with a sequel I know what to expect.

Well a few questions before I can answer. First, did I play the first game to the sequel? Second, did I enjoy the first game? If the answer is yes to both of these questions, then I want the sequel first. Take for example Resistance 2 vs Killzone 2 (yes I know Killzone 2 is also a sequel, but not to me it isn't seeing have know nothing of the first one). I have played and beat the first Resistance and loved it (it was the first FPS on a console that I have enjoyed in over 7 years). So when I get my a new PS3, I will be picking up Resistance 2 before I pick up Killzone 2. I can't wait to see how the story continues. If Killzone 2 is to much for anybody because I am comparing a sequel to a sequel, then just swap out Killzone 2 with LittleBigPlanet and I will still pick Resistance 2 first.

Depends on the sequel or game.

Depends on the game. If its a sequel to Kingdom Hearts or The Legend of Zelda, that is taking the top priority above other games.

But there are new titles that I am extremely excited for. Dragon Age: Origins and The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf are a couple. But then there are sequels to games coming out that I have never played and those I am very excited for; for example Diablo III.

Lately its been sequels for me (KZ2, R2, SFIV), most of the gamesI am waiting for this year are sequels (Tekken 6, Uncharted 2, GOW3).

It all depends on the games. Most of the time I do go with sequals. But I also tend to pick up new titles as well. :)
