I had the original GTA for computer, then got each one that came out for ps2 (5 of them). I loved each of them for what they are - games that give you complete freedom. GTA4 will be amazing, I can't wait. No game has rivalled the number of hours I've spent in a gta game just messing around
Well the last 2 liberty city games were boring and depressing. This one can't be any worse. I just can't wait for the next vice city game.duane27
Are you saying GTA 3 was boring and depressing? I agree LC stories wasn't great because when it came out it looked dated. But when GTA 3 came out it made me and many othersfall in love with gaming all over again!!
This thread wouldn't even exisit if GTA 3 hadn't been as succesful as it was!!!!
meh, the gta series is pretty overrated. they arent bad games, but definately not "the best ever." i think people just get caught up in the hype and controversy(like with most r* games).
Or maybe just maybe (like me) they happen to like the games. Everybody has their own tastes. I can not stand the FF series but I know I'm in the minority and I appreicate other peoples likes and dislikes

im assuming youre talking to me. people can like ET the game, but it doesnt make it the best game ever.
I think its going to be awesome, but the problem is the gameplay will probably feel a bit too familiar and the people that have played all the GTA games will probably not be blown away. The fact that Rockstar delayed it in order to perfect it makes me feel better.

It was awesome when it came out. True. But when Vice City came out it just smashed that game. It did everything and more. So in those regards GTA:3 was bad.
i'm gonna check out the game, of course, but i'm not the biggest fan of the series. I can see many faults in the old games, and i really hope rockstar adress these issues with the new one. it looks stunning of course, but all we've really had is two minute long trailers that don't really show much
GTA 4 will take over justlike Gta 3, Vice City and San Andreas did. The other gta's games like liberty city stories and vice city stories were just somthing for Gta fans to play will waiting on GTA 4. 2008 is the Year of Rockstar games trust me. And if u noticed the character in Gta 4 looks like the GUY in the Professional movie, so all u gta fans out there watch that movie cause i think thats who Rockstar based the GTA 4 charater off of.
It would definatly be the best game of it's genre. Of all time, well I don't know, perhaps if the online was mmorpg then maaaaaaaaaaybe it can destroy it's competition. and yeh I'm taking shots at halo.
