Played Metal gear solid 4 for exactly 10 minutes before throwing it out of a window (and have played the game since PS1, and "Snake eater" was definitely best game on PS2). It was superb example on how a brilliant game can be fuc*ed up easily...a shame truly (and Tekken 6 is going the same way - from brilliant to $hitty):(
I'd have to say Metal Gear Solid also. Never has a game reeled me back in for more and made it absolutely impossible to put down the controller. I didn't want it to end and when it did, I started over immediately.
You know what? I'm going to shock you all: Assassin's Creed II. Loved it. In terms of exclusives though (I could shock you all again!) I'll go with... Ratchet and Clank Future: ACIT.
On the subject of 'taking the cake', would it be wrong to suggest Fat Princess? ;) :o :D It's addictive fun!
Seriously though... **Thinks.** I'd have to agree with MGS4. There are multiple ways to approach the game play, a glut of weaponry is at your disposal (if that's your bag), and the digital camera lets you capture some pretty sweet gaming moments. The plot is sweeping and manages to tie the previous games together well.
