What do you think of update 3.01?

So since update 3.01 people started talking about it being bad, doing more harm then good. Others think that it solved everything. What do you think? If you say it did more harm then good, please say why.I think it is bad, as after downloading the update my ps3 started freezing sometimes when playing downloaded games and it sometimes randomly disconnects from the interne,' requiring a reboot, never did that before the update.

Well I was playing uncharteda lotafter 3.00 came out and it froze continuosly. I would reset my ps3 and try again and it would freeze over and over. After the update uncharted was fine, i completed on crushing and got my plat. So,a great update from sony even though they messed it up with 3.00.

Obviously alot of people are having problems with Uncharted, but for myself it has been great. Although the box that apears above friends is a bit ugly.

It exchanged one set of problems for a new set of problems

The thing is that the old problems were also destroying Uncharted and Sony has high hopes for it's sequel so it was more important to rush out the 3.01 patch and have people play uncharted even if it means screwing with people's consoles.

I don't like what they did to the friends list. It looks terrible. Like it doesn't belong.
I don't like "What's new" and I really hate having that "PSN Store" icon in my Games row on the XMB. Pointless clutter that I wish I could get rid of. And annoying too: I used to just click on my game and get started, now I have to press down to select my game. A minor inconvenience? Yes. But an unnecessary incovenience none the less.

BTW, is there any way to edit your XMB to get rid of the things you don't need? I don't need PSN Store in 2 different columns.

Well since I don't have Uncharted but my system "required" the update and now all my other games and my downloads are freezing, I'm going to go with the vote for "this new update is a steaming bag of sh*t"

-bring back the old ps3 logo at boot and game startup

-reduce the icon size

-remove the dissapearing menu text

-fix problems with games i'm playing

-remove useless store links

those are the main reasons i hate the update and keep being offline

does update 3.01 make your blue-ray driver disable?

My ps3 is now blacking out, I haved to shut it off then back on to play

after i got 3.01 the music player will randomly pause and skip songs or even stangely enter the playlist editor

very annoying as i use ps3 for music alot

best update as i was able to play uncharted again.
