Motion graphics and the first person shooter aspect are probably one of the only things I'd like to see improved. Other than that, I want the same experience I had with fallout 3. < 3

Some more colorful enviroments, especially more grass. Also, less glitches, better AI, and just more NPC's.
More variety in the environments. Different starting locations: in a vault, in a caravan, play as a ghoul, as a raider, etc. A battered car as the only method of quick travel. A more focused story. What I mean by that, is make different problems for different people. Show the true causes of Psycho and Jet with addicts and people on the brink of death because they use them. A full balanced story. Be good fight with the Brotherhood, be evil fight with the Enclave. I hate when games market how much choice you have but the outcome is always the same climax. Mix and match clothing sets. Finally, I would really like to see a Fallout game that doesn't take place in the USA. I've always wondered what happened to the rest of the world and that would be an interesting way to find out.
Most of the stuff I said was in Fallout 2 (environments, vehicle, effects of psycho/jet) so it's surely doable.
would be so awesome if it ran on id's tech 5 engine (AKA RAGE engine) megatextures are so beautiful and it runs like a dream.
Other than graphics i really don't have any complaints, and i'm not creative enough to think of improvements on top of the ones already implemented in NEW VEGAS, would be cool if you get enough radation damadge to become a ghoul.
technically new vegas is fallout 5 , there was also fallout tactics which is technically the 3rd partIsn't Fallout 4 techincally Fallout: New Vegas?

The ability to run. Seriously it takes too long to get anywhere you have not discovered. I'd even chosennot todo some of theside quests.
More responsive melee combat and better animations for it. I was hacking away with a sword, it looked ridiculous.
Somephysics when walking,it felt like being on rollerblades.
Also away with the 3rd person view. It was not working.
The same as Fallout 3 except hopefully hardly any glitches and framerate issues, plus improved graphics :)
Lets see:
1. More character models - I mean its like almost all people, especially the women, in Fallout 3 had like the same basic face with a few tweaks!
2. Improved follower AI - Definitely one of the most annoying parts was how followers seemed to get stuck everywhere!
3. Cutscenes - They should include this for better storytelling
And of course not too forget it should be WITHOUT any bugs and glitches!
Give us a silky smooth frame rate - the last one was awful.
Get rid of VATS - it sucks. Combined with weapons that are nearly useless unless you use VATS, it took almost all the fun out of the combat for me.
Have a MUCH more interesting story. I was completely uninvolved in Fallout 3's story.
Design the missions better. I played the game for 40+ hours and I apparently missed half the missions.
If we're going to spend tons of time exploring and collecting stuff, give us something to buy with our caps. None of the sellers in Fallout 3 had any weapons that were any better than the crap I already had. Half they time they didn't even have any money to buy my crap with.
Give us more varied environments - in Fallout 3, almost everything looked the same.
Give us more varied - an important - missions. Half the junk in Fallout 3 was pointless fetch quests. Run all the way to the opposite end of the building and flip a switch. Okay, now run all the way back there and flip another switch. Now go all the way to the other end of the building and turn a valve. Yawn.
Hmm, Fallout 4...
I say more competent friendly AI for one. Not so much companions (though they could use a tune-up), but other characters (like Sydney) who have horrible stats and throw themselves into battle, only to get an arm or a leg blown off. 'Off-map' locations(like Point Lookout, etc.), not in the form of DLC.

I say it's neither, really.
For one, Tactics is considered semi-canon. And I'm more inclined to say that New Vegas is more like Fallout 3 than Fallout 3 itself, if that makes any sense. New Vegas is a return to the West and partly follows on from Fallout 1 & 2, where as Fallout 3 was set on the East Coast, completely separate from the first two.
Get rid of VATS - it sucks.

I doubt that'll happen. Sure, it's basically Auto-Aim, but I don't think they'll ever get rid of it.
Uncharted 2 caliber graphics, an open world similar to what Ninja Theory's Enslaved is offering (greenery and plants consuming the wasteland after nuclear fallout), improved first person shooter controls, hardcore mode, characters that have more of a personality and fluid animations (the NPCs in F3 seemed so stale when talking to you) and lots of the stuff Fallout 3 offered such as weapons and schematics, sans the glitches.

Well, the first two are asking for a lot. I'd probably say that it's only possible on CryEngine 3. Hmm, that's an idea.
Im kinda glad fallout 3 did away with cutscenes cuz it would most likely take away from the "be who you want to be" aspect of the game. (cutscense including your character would most likely be the same every time you played the game, or else it would be evil or good, no in between, therefore no choice)Lets see:
