What do YOU want in the next firmware?

Personally id like sony to sort out the music sorting on the ps3,like giving me the option to sort music by artist for a start. Also the option to store music through sonys own atrac compression system to take up less space for the same amount of music.

I dont use my ps3 as my sole music player but sometimes its less hassle to just flick my ps3 on and select a track than go through my huge cd collection.

What about you guys,what do you want to see?

Uhm, you can sort the music out by artist.

Go to music and push Square.

As for me, I want faster in-game XMB response time.

I don't like having to wait 10-15 seconds for all the icons and stuff on the XMB to load.

Oh, and fix the browser crashing.

Just like Scianix-Black said, you could sort from the start. And i'd like to see in-game music getting patched for more games and also i'd want faster loading XMB. I get killed hundreds of times in GTA while trying to look at my trophies. And i want the Home logo to appear on my XMB.

Haha cheers for that buddy,i had no clue that was fixed,i just heard loads of people complianing about it. That will serve me right for not checking what the updates do before installing. Cheers again 8)

I still want atrac compatibility though! I could lob my sony atrac mp3 player in a usb port and just rip the tracks that way then!

And what's up with my downloads switching to "Pending.." even though I'm not playing online?

It only ever did that when I played a game online, but now downloads stop when I play offline.

When the hell did that happen?

I don't think that's Sony's fault or something. You were probably playing a game you had installed to you'r HD Drive right? If that's right, then it doesn't work excerpt for when you turn the game off. For example Uncharted will work even though how much you play and all that. Because you don't use the HD Drive for Uncharted. Only insert the disc.

Well, no, I was playing GTAIV today and noticed it, but I wasn't playing online.

Maybe GTAIV accesses the HDD or something.

I'll try it with Uncharted later and see if it does the same thing.

That's what i'm saying, it doesn't have much to do with you playing online, but if the game is installed to the HD Drive. Then you'll get the "pending" message rather than the "downloading" message.

um this might sound stupid but what do you mean pop up? what pop's up when you get a message? man, I've been complaining wanting a little visual cue in the corner with an envelope, a face anything to alert you of a new message, does this already happen? grenadesaway

I mean, all we have right now is the big message in the top right of the screen saying "You have received a message."

Ablity to download while watching DVDs etc, more trophies for games (even if its the game creators who are meant to do it), better browser (one thats worth using) and in game chat because i hate quiting to talk to matesJonesy2k

• Trophy support in every game
• Trying to view someone else's profile and compare Trophies in game takes far too long. It has to be sped up dramatically.
• No longer having to install a game after downloading it.

Background Downloads , able to watch movies while it downloads your crap in the background.

The ability to charge one's controller when the console is on Standby.

Faster loading menus.

The ability to take in game pictures with any PS3 game and be able to transfer to your PC for desktop reasons.

The ability to record your videogame sessions on the harddrive to export to your PC for easy uploading onto Youtube.

Customizable sounds, being able to record your own sound recordings and put them to use on different things, such as "You have mail" when receiving an email from someone.

Skype on the PS3, and able to use while in game, I could be talking to my mom and designing a level on LBP at the same time. (They have it on the PSP< why not PS3?)

A proper internet browser, one that has full mouse and keyboard fnctionality and can do everything what a normal browser can do, like chat online with Java things.

Compatible with my phone's Bluetooth so I could transfer things back and forth, rather than having to jack my phone into the Laptop, transfer the pics and crap onto the laptop for transference to the PS3.

The only thing I want is the ability to play your own music as a background track whilst playing your games. Maybe even add in a feature that when you do, it automatically mutes the music of the game, having the sound effects/speech still there. I've always wondered what it'd be like playing motorstorm with some tranquil zen music in the background while still hearing the roaring of the engines and the crashing of metal.mattv888

Cross-game private chat is all I really care about.

Oh, and no more need for installs after downloading. The 360 doesn't make me do it, why should the PS3? Auto install the damn thing!

I'd love .mkv support wait and see if this comes into Divx 7 and it might be possible soon. Sort out all the problems with media servers, I can't get anything to work.

its alphabetical as far as i know. the offline people are definately alphabetical, and im pretty sure the same is for the online folk as well. but yeah, sorting by game would be good.
